About Us: For over 30 years WeeCare Inc./Children's World has been providing quality child care in Walkersville and Frederick Maryland. We provide care for children 18 months (Toddlers) – 12 years of age and are licensed by the Maryland Department of Education, Office of Child Care and regulated under COMAR 13A.16. We are a Level 3 Maryland Excels Quality Rated Program. We are open Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m.- 6:00 p.m. We use pre-made curriculums and teacher ideas to explore themes using activities that promote language/ literacy, mathematical thinking, art/creativity, science/sensory, social/emotional growth, physical development/ health and more. Although we do not offer insurance, we do offer part-time and full-time schedules, PTO and select paid holidays off. Program staff must undergo criminal background checks, child abuse and neglect clearances, physical examinations and have substantial training in child care.

Qualifications: High school diploma or GED, proven experience working as a childcare teacher, either one or a combination of the 45-hour infant/toddler certification, 90-hour preschool certification and 45-hour school-age certification, Basic Health and Safety Training, Child Care and COVID-19 training, CPR and First Aid, ADA, approved 9-hour communication training, and Supporting Breastfeeding Practices (some classes can be taken after hire), van driver experience preferred, flexible schedule needed.

We are looking to hire a child care teacher to perform all duties necessary to ensure that children’s basic needs are taken care of. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: supervising children, providing a safe and loving environment that promotes growth and learning, following the regulation book and staff handbook, changing diapers, wiping noses, washing hands, etc., serving meals – participating in CACFP (Food Program), completing daily paperwork, creating lesson plans and implementing the curriculum, providing developmentally appropriate materials and domain-based activities appropriate for the developmental levels, abilities and learning styles of all children, giving opportunities to interact with their peers and offer a balance of child-initiated and teacher-directed activities including whole group, small group and individual learning experiences reflecting the interests of the children and cultural background, providing lessons informed by observations, completing observations, developmental checklists and other assessments for all children, using positive behavioral supports and strategies with children that include: providing choices; using redirection, reflection, and problem solving; and giving clear rules and expectations, communicating with parents, sanitizing all toys and play areas, preparing for and attending conferences, staff meetings and trainings and completing evaluations, being attentive and patient, being prepared and punctual, and performing other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
