Summary/Objective:

Japanese language highly preferred.

Part Time - Work Monday - Thursday 9am - 3pm for 22 hours a week

The ideal candidate will have three years of experience along with a proven track record in Customer Service, Sales, Freight Forwarding industry and/or Freight Forwarding Operations. This role’s primary responsibility is to maintain a professional relationship with customers, to ensure our customers are satisfied with services and manage key accounts to maximize sales and profits. This position will provide support to the Sales Team and will work closely with Freight Forwarding Operations team to ensure services are delivered in a seamless fashion.

Essential Duties and Functional Responsibilities:

· Performing tasks safely

· Ensuring area housekeeping requirements are met

· Abiding by all OSHA rules and LOGISTEED-America, Inc.’s safety practices

· Meeting established procedures and productivity, safety and quality standards

· Ocean freight experience

· Air freight experience

· Provide assistance to Sales staff members (Quotation preparation, Rate inquiries to overseas, etc.)

· Creating and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures for Sales Assistant Position

· Setting up new accounts (SOP, obtaining credit application & POA, etc.)

· Maintaining up to date information for all customers

· New business development through telesales and Account Management

· Maintaining existing customers and new customer visits when it is necessary

· Cross training to all functions in Freight Forwarding Operations

· Generating and calculating freight quotations and sales documents

· Liaising with third parties to move goods (by road, rail, air or sea) in accordance with customer requirements

· Coordinating US Customs Brokerage to guide the freight efficiently through complex import procedures

· Working closely with customers, colleagues and third parties to ensure smooth operation to meet deadlines

· Maintaining communication and control through all phases of the journey, including the production of reports and statistics

· Maintaining current knowledge of relevant legislation, political situations and other factors that could affect the movement of freight

· Managing multiple customers across the globe coordinating shipments between multiple carriers and modes of transportation

· Knowledge of state, federal and international applicable laws and regulations as they relate to primary services provided (i.e. Customs, Security, other import & export government agencies)

· Supporting Freight Forwarding Operations as required

· Performing other duties as assigned by the Manager

Educational and Experience

Requirements and Preferences:

* Bi-lingual Japanese Preferred

· Excellent verbal and written communications skills

· High school diploma / GED

· Minimum 3 years operational freight forwarding experience

· Professional and Presentable

· Enthusiastic and Motivated

· Effective, clear, and concise communication skills

· Detail oriented with ability to solve problems independently as well as in a team environment

· Demonstrated experience interacting, developing and maintaining customer relationships

· Proven success in and improving quality, service, safety and client relationship in a fast-paced high-pressure setting

· Proven competencies in Microsoft Office products

· Ability to understand any and all safety requirements and regulations (OSHA)

· Ability to pass all TSA background requirements

· Ability to understand and comply with Compliance Programs

· Ability to work flexible hours according to business needs

Additional Eligibility Qualifications:

· Ability to read, analyze and interpret documents

· Ability to respond effectively to inquiries or complaints

Work Authorization/Security Clearance (if applicable):
