Veterinary Technician

Job Summary:
Animal Family Veterinary Care Center is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team in Davenport, Iowa. Compensation & Benefits:

Responsibilities:

• Assist veterinarians in all aspects of patient care including appointments, surgeries, and treatments.
• Administer medications and treatments to patients as directed by the veterinarian.
• Monitor and document patient vitals and behavior during exams, procedures, and recovery.
• Perform laboratory tests such as bloodwork, urinalysis, and ear cytology.
• Take and process x-rays.
• Provide nursing care to hospitalized patients, including feeding, medicating, and monitoring.
• Facilitate client education and communication regarding pet care, treatments, and follow-up instructions.
• Maintain accurate and organized medical records.
• Adhere to all clinic policies and procedures, as well as local, state, and federal regulations.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Degree or certification in veterinary technology preferred or equivalent experience.
• 2 years experience working as a veterinary technician preferred.
• Strong technical skills for animal care, including taking vitals, administering medications, and performing laboratory tests.
• Proficiency in animal handling and restraint techniques.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks accordingly.
• Exceptional communication and customer service skills.
• Knowledge of Ezyvet software is a plus.
• Must be willing to work flexible hours.
