Job Purpose:
Collaborate closely with the Community Service Board’s Administrative Leadership Team, DBHDD, and Georgia Council on Substance Abuse to ensure consistency in leadership for Recovery Coaches providing services in Addiction Recovery
Support Center. Provide individual and group performance management for the CARES Recovery Coaches and ensure the principles and values of recovery are upheld in all aspects of services provided to individuals, family members,
friends, and allies. Work closely with CSB Administrative team and DBHDD on financial aspects and programmatic budget. Support and develop collaboration between Addiction Recovery Support Center and community stakeholders.
Duties:
PROGRAM OVERSIGHT: Ensures that ARSC programming operates within the service guidelines set forth by
DBHDD. Works closely with DBHDD program officer and GCSA to ensure best practices in delivering recovery
support services.
COORDINATE AND DEVELOP PROGRAM: Work with ARSC Recovery Coaches, community stakeholders, and ARSC
Advisory Board to coordinate all aspects of ARSC Programming. Develop services consistent with service definition
to serve the needs of the community.
SUPPORT, DEVELOP, AND SCHEDULE RECOVERY COACHING SERVICES: Provide one-on-one and group performance support to recovery coaches. Coordinate on-going training and development for recovery coaches. Schedule recovery coaching services to meet needs of the community. Monitor boundary management and make necessary adjustments.
PROVIDE RECOVERY COACHING SERVICES: Serve as an effective recovery coach when necessary.
DEVELOP AND MAINTAIN RELATIONSHIPS WITH COMMUNITY STAKEHOLDERS: Maintain excellent working relationships with local stakeholders including, hospitals, 12-step/faith-based/other recovery groups, local law
enforcement, local judicial system, outside treatment programs, local businesses, etc. Serves as a liaison between ARSC and stakeholders in partnership with the Community Service Board. Coordinate outreach to the community to promote NE Georgia Community Connections. Collaborate with community-based recovery supports and service providers.
MAINTAIN AND UPDATE RECORDS AND DATA: Work closely with CSB on evaluation, data tracking, report writing and record keeping.
PRESENCE AND ATTENDANCE: Reports to work as scheduled. Follows agency procedure for reporting absence.
Puts in hours required to meet responsibilities. Models good attendance/time management. Travels as required.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Active Certified Addiction Recovery Empowerment Specialist (CARES) certification required.
CPS-AD certification indicating passing grade on CARES Exam required.
Proficiency in providing peer support.
Extensive knowledge of the addiction recovery process and principles of a recovery-oriented system of care.
Familiarity with the recovery community, services, and resources.
Ability to provide development and performance support for multiple CARES (CPS-AD) recovery coaches.
Understanding of and ability to maintain appropriate boundaries with staff and community partners.
Cultural Competency skills and experience with culturally diverse populations.
Strong customer service ethic.
Demonstrated excellence in written and oral communication skills.
Intermediate computer skills with Microsoft Office Suite. Google suite, Excel
Experience with staff leadership preferred.
Ability to develop and support a database preferred.
Experience working in or around a healthcare setting.
Experience working in a HIPPA compliant environment preferred.
Minimum Education:
Associate degree or equivalent experience (2+ years) in the prevention, treatment, or recovery field required.
