NHJC has an exciting and unique opportunity for a Medical Administrative Assistant Career Technical Training Manager in our Manchester location. In this role, you will not only be responsible for the overall management of facility maintenance but also have the chance to make a real difference in the lives of our students.

What you will be accomplishing in our team environment

· Follows all integrity guidelines and procedures and ensures no manipulation of student data.

· Ensures Center meets or exceeds DOL/Company performance goals.

· Oversaw and managed the Career Technical Training department, including Work-Based Learning (WBL) and the CTR/Grad-90 program.

· Ensures each student receives comprehensive and individualized case management that promotes quality career technical training, industry-recognized credential attainment, and job placement.

· Ensures instructors provide quality career technical training and transitional support that leads to student placement. Tracks and monitors program outcomes to ensure goals are met.

· Works with the Center’s Workforce Council to align the Center’s training with local workforce demands and to ensure students receive industry-relevant training.

· Ensures that all career technical training and career transition areas are represented by employers who meet with students at the Center to provide career guidance and placement opportunities.

· Ensures effective collaboration of CTT and WBL staff for WBL and direct placement opportunities that align with the training and credentials offered at the Center.

· Effectively manages the Center’s CTR/Grad-90 Program to ensure students are appropriately scheduled and classes contain relevant and meaningful transitional and job search activities.

· Develop center-beneficial linkages within the community for education, employment, Career Technical Training, and WBL. Promotes a positive image of the Center and Job Corps and establishes meaningful relationships with elected officials.

· Mentors, monitors, and models the Career Success Standards as the PRH requires.

· Provides high-quality supervision and management for the student population. Takes swift and appropriate action and positively influences student behavior. Shows respect and courtesy to students and holds them accountable for their actions and behavior.

· Provides quality programs and services for students, ensuring that quality is maintained and student needs are met. Pursues improvement and enhancement of programs and services.

· Ensures that the area of oversight is organized, clean, safe, and conducive to student learning.

· Interviews, recommends for hire, disciplines, recommends for termination, and evaluates the performance of the employees in the CTT Department.

· Fills staff vacancies promptly. Effectively motivates, empowers, and requires staff to perform their job responsibilities. Employs sound time-management and delegation skills. Hold staff accountable for producing quality work, develop staff for career progression, and discipline staff that fail to meet goals.

· Provide required/supplemental training for new and current employees.

· Motivates and manages staff to work effectively, creates a supportive work environment, recognizes staff accomplishments, and proactively addresses staff performance concerns.

· Exchanges ideas and information, both orally and in writing, clearly and concisely and contributes meaningfully to group efforts by offering relevant ideas and knowledge. Provides quality and timely information to DOL/Company when requested.

· Effectively articulates thoughts and ideas. Identifies problems, analyzes causes, and evaluates appropriate solutions before taking or recommending actions. Follows up to ensure prompt/proper action and issues are corrected.

· Works in partnership with staff from all Departments to ensure adequate supervision and services are provided to students.

· Accepts direction and supervision from the Center Director/Shift Manager, including assignments to temporarily perform job responsibilities of other departments and positions.

· Other duties as assigned.

What we are looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school required
  • Master’s degree preferred
  • Medical Administrative Assistant (CMAA) Certificate for New Hampshire
  • A minimum of two years experience in program management and direction
  • Substantial experience working with youth
  • Valid in-state Driver’s license and meet Company insurability requirements
  • Department of Labor approval required
  • Ability to speak and read the English language
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to follow instructions and ask questions when unclear on what to do.
  • Work effectively as a team member.
  • Observes safety and security procedures; reports potentially unsafe conditions; uses equipment and materials properly.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Physical requirements include sitting, standing, climbing, walking, lifting, pulling and pushing, carrying, reaching, stooping, and crouching. Demonstrates the ability to lift 40 pounds and assess the lift load to ask for necessary assistance.

The program helps eligible young people ages 16 through 24 complete their high school education, trains them for meaningful careers, and assists them with obtaining employment. Job Corps has trained and educated over two million individuals since 1964.

At Job Corps, students have access to room and board while they learn skills in specific training areas for up to three years. In addition to helping students complete their education, obtain career technical skills and gain employment, Job Corps also provides transitional support services, such as help finding employment, housing, child care, and transportation.
