Grade Foreman - Charlotte

Summary

Hi-Way Paving is seeking an experienced, hands-on Grade Foreman to join our team. Currently, this position will be located at our project in Charlotte, NC. This individual will lead a crew of operators and laborers, oversee equipment, meet production goals, and manage schedule requirements.

In the future, the individual in this role may need to travel to other various project locations (Raleigh, NC; Nashville, TN and other projects and cities TBD) and may require travel (up to 100%).

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the dirt crew to meet production goals.
• Designate worker responsibilities and schedules as well as assist in coordinating the delivery of equipment and materials.
• Inspect condition of grade to project specifications.
• Read and interpret blueprints.
• Manage daily timekeeping logs and equipment logs.
• Establish and communicate performance expectations, provide feedback, determine training and development needs, and conduct on-the-job-training. 
• Monitor and help enforce safety rules and practices from all governing authorities and site-specific plans. 

Qualifications

• 3+ years of Foreman experience on heavy/highway and airfield projects or related heavy/highway construction job-site management experience required.
• Experience leading or contributing to a concrete paving crew at airfields/airports, preferred.
  
• Enhanced training or certifications in safety and/or OSHA regulations, preferred.
• High degree of focus and attention to detail. 
• Excellent communication skills.
• Capable of multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment. 
• Must be able to travel overnight to job sites up to 100% of the time.
• Ability to gain clearance in restricted/high-security zones. (Airport AOA, Military Bases, etc.)
