Job Overview
The job of the Senior Foreman is essential to the success of the projects at Rock Spring Contracting. A Senior Foreman must have the ability to run multiple large commercial construction jobs while supporting foreman and developing less experienced personnel.
Position Summary
A Senior Foreman will be responsible for working with the Superintendent and Project Manager in ensuring that jobs run smoothly day to day. The success of the position will be determined not only by jobs being completed safely, on time and on budget, but also by the development of other field personnel. A Senior Foreman will have proven themselves as a top field foreman at Rock Spring.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Employee management, recruitment and training
- Identify and develop talent within the workforce to groom new lead mechanics, Junior Foremen and Foremen
- Train field employees on Drywall trade skills and Rock Spring's systems and procedures
- Partner with the Safety Team in making jobsite safety a top priority
- Ensure all employees know the safety procedures of RSC and the GC customers
- Enforce safety while on-site
- Support Foremen by providing safety training materials and toolbox talks
- Read and Interpret Plans and Specifications
- Must be able to teach others to read plans and perform layout for all types of jobs
- Determine, schedule and verify correct manpower for assigned jobs based on budget and schedule needs.
- Determine and communicate necessary manpower to keep job running on schedule
- Effectively communicate with GC Project Superintendents and Management.
- Develop good relationships with GCs team on-site
- Attend meetings as scheduled by GC field personnel
- Be the leader on multiple jobs.
- Be a presence and escalation point for Rock Spring employees and GC employees
- Enforce and teach quality control
- Work with the teams to enforce job cleanliness and organization. (trash, material, equipment, supplies, etc)
- Assist PM staff and Superintendent.
- Assist in determining Labor and material needed for RFIs
- Help PM determine material needed based on field conditions
- Attend meetings with PM and Superintendent as requested
- Exhibit a commitment to safety and train others to do the same
- OSHA 30 Certification is required
- Attend Safety meetings as required
- Enforce safety with the entire team by working with foremen, safety officers and junior foremen
- Ensure all employees know the safety procedures of RSC and the GC customers
- Work with junior foreman and others to ensure material is on-site to achieve the expected production and minimize waste.
- Perform field take-offs and material verifications as needed to verify stud heights, field conditions and site-specific conditions.
- Place orders, scheduling deliveries and minimize waste
- Other duties as needed.

- Tech Savvy, able to use and teach others iPad and associated programs
- Verfico, Plangrid, Email, Various GC construction software
- Bilingual in speaking and writing in English and Spanish
- Excellent in Blueprint and Specification interpretation
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize work and various other tasks
Qualifications
- Ability to read building plans.
- Ability to estimate quantity of materials required for a project.
- Ability to measure and cut drywall to fit in specific spaces.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination.
- Ability to work independently and with a work crew.
- Ability to use hand tools and power tools required for installing drywall.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods standing, climbing ladders, bending, and kneeling.
- Physically able to install drywall and secure in place.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time to lift and move drywall panels.
