Junior Foreman


The Junior Foreman position is an entry into the leadership roles at Rock Spring Contracting. Junior Foreman will assist the Foreman in running jobs while learning what the foreman role entails and developing the skills to potentially take on that role in the future.


Essential Duties:

  • Ability to learn how to read and interpret Plans and Specifications
    • Must be able to understand plans and assist in performing layout.
  • Assist Foreman in scheduling and verifying correct manpower.
    • Learn why correct manpower levels are important and how to evaluate necessary manpower.
  • Effectively communicate with GC Project Superintendents and Management.
    • Develop good relationships with GCs on-site
    • Attend meetings as scheduled by GC field personnel
    • Assist in completing all required reports: Daily, Weekly, Monthly, Incident
  • Be a leader on the job.
    • Be a presence and go-to person for Rock Spring employees.
    • Ability to recognize and enforce quality control
    • Manage completion of rolling completion lists and punch lists
    • Keep the job clean and orderly. (trash, material, equipment, supplies, etc)
    • Present yourself and Rock Spring in a professional manner
  • Ability to run jobs independently
    • Completion and closeout of jobs
    • Service jobs
    • Manage jobs with oversight from Sr Foreman or Superintendent
  • Exhibit a commitment to safety.
    • Work towards OSHA 30 certification
    • Attend Safety meetings as required
    • Enforce safety with the entire team
      • Ensure all employees know the safety procedures of RSC and the GC customers
      • Help conduct safety training and toolbox talks
      • Report all incidents as soon as possible to Rock Spring and GC Safety team
    • Assist in ordering and organizing material
      • Help with field take-offs and material verifications.
      • Receive deliveries and stage material
    • Assist Forman by completing paperwork as requested
      • Verfico, Sign in sheets, manpower tracker
      • Writing tickets for work outside contract
      • Safety forms
    • Other Duties as assigned
