The Association of Inspectors General (AIG) is a not-for-profit corporation with approximately 2,500 members nationwide and internationally, offering its members advocacy, certification training and other programming as part of the AIG’s mission to promote independent and effective government oversight among municipal, local, state, national and international Inspectors General and oversight professionals.
The AIG is seeking a highly qualified PROGRAM DIRECTOR for immediate hire.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Program Director is responsible for planning, coordinating and executing delivery of the Association’s continuing education programming – including the Association’s Inspector General Institute® programs, Annual Training Conference, and webinars in close collaboration with the Executive Director.
The Program Director is responsible for ensuring compliance with industry continuing education standards (NASBA) for all training programs; also responsible for maintenance of training records.
The Program Director should be a highly organized trainings/events coordinator (in-person and online) and a clear communicator.
The Program Director is a salaried, full-time position with opportunities for future growth.
Travel is required and includes 3-4 one-week trips annually.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Specific responsibilities include:
- Plan, coordinate, and execute delivery of the Association’s Inspector General Institute® programs
- Plan, coordinate, and execute the Association’s Annual Training Conference
- Plan, coordinate, and facilitate delivery of Association’s online training initiatives
- Draft & deploy digital advertising and marketing for all training initiatives
- Develop content to promote the Association’s work across social media channels
- Collect, organize and upload all instructor-supplied digital education content for the Inspector General Institute® programs, annual training conference, and web-based training initiatives
- Review presentations and communicate with presenters on the content and planning of presentations
- Manage the production of the Association’s webinars, including content review, lead speaker practice session, ensure NASBA compliance, evaluate sessions, and issue CPE certificates
- Assist Executive Director with working with event venues, event vendors and coordinating logistical matters as needed
- Collaborate with the Association’s Program Support Manager to ensure efficient delivery of all training programs.
- Develop and manage a detailed project schedule, deliverables, and work plan
- Measure project performance to identify areas for improvement
- Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director
QUALIFICATIONS:
The Program Director will possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities:
- Bachelor's degree with preferred major in public administration, business, or online education.
- Demonstrated experience planning and executing both in-person and online training programs.
- Minimum of 2 years of project management, event management, and/or related experience.
- Proven ability to solve problems creatively.
- Demonstrated communications experience with the ability to lead promotion and marketing of events to maximize participation.
- Familiarity with Inspector General Offices or public oversight and their functions.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to complete projects according to outlined scope, budget, and timeline.
- Advanced computer abilities, including platforms such as: MS Office Pro, Adobe Pro, WordPress, WebEx Teams and Meetings, Zoom, LinkedIn, CRM & Event Management platforms. Experience with Conferences io software a plus.
HOURS OF WORK:
General hours of work are 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Exempt from overtime compensation. Will be required to work whatever hours are necessary to satisfactorily perform the duties and demands of this position. Thirty-five (35) hour minimum per work week.
SALARY: Salary Range: $60,000 to $75,000

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
- Negotiable hybrid/in-person schedule
- Proximity to the New York City region is preferred
- Required travel to two AIG Institutes® and Annual Training Conferences as well as other travel as necessary
