Bookkeeper

We’re looking for an entry level Bookkeeper to join our Accounting Team in Ledyard, CT.

Responsibilities:

• Reconcile bank statements.
• Enter data and formulate employee expense reports using cost accounting software.
• Produce basic accounting reports relating to accounts payable/receivable.
• Prepare purchase orders and receive inventory.
• Train as backup for accounts payable.
• Train as backup for payroll using 3rd party service such as ADP.
• Act as a backup for Receptionist as needed.
• Comply with federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and regulations.

Required Qualifications:

• High school graduate required; associate degree in accounting/business administration preferred.
• 2 years of accounting experience involving a variety of duties.
• Understanding of debits, credits, and overall accounting knowledge.
• Basic computer knowledge to include Microsoft Office and ability to learn other software.
• General Office duties including: file management, shipping/receiving and phones.
• Detail oriented and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of principles and processes for providing internal and external customer service.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
• Openness to help others on the team with new projects and other initiatives as the company grows.
