Catering Manager

Catering Manager Be part of a winning team! The exclusive Preakness Hills Country Club in Wayne, New Jersey seeks a talented and proven Catering Manager.

The successful candidate will possess strong service standards, a meticulous attention to detail and must embrace change, thrive on challenge and constantly strive to surpass their personal best. Candidates must have catering/hospitality/private club experience. This is not a meeting planner position; high fine dining standards and catering sales experience in addition to the ability to operationally oversee and manage the F&B team during the entire execution of events is required.

Responsibilities

 Expertly contracting, planning and overseeing events of all sizes.

 Responsible for banquet events supervision.

 Conducts training for all new service staff, and instructs service staff on proper service techniques on an ongoing basis

 Monitors performance of service personnel to ensure Club readiness and a consistent high-level of quality personalized member service

 POS management; Jonas preferred

 Prepares necessary Club reports as requested

 Opening/closing clubhouse duties as scheduled

 Performs other duties as required by the General Manager and Clubhouse Manager

 A 50+ hour work week including weekends, holidays and late nights are required during season.

Qualifications

 College education; a degree in Hospitality Management will be highly considered

 Must posses a professional demeanor, a good work ethic, a team mentality, and love what they do

 Must possess a meticulous attention to detail to consistently achieve only the highest levels of member satisfaction.

 Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to deal with members and guests in a tactful, personable, and diplomatic manner is essential.

 Must be thoroughly knowledgeable of the proper procedures and techniques of food and beverage, a la carte and banquet service, table settings and other aspects of restaurant/club operations

 Must be able to provide clear direction to service staff and be experienced in the development and implementation of effective training programs

 Must be hands-on, detail-oriented, service-driven and lead the team by example toward attainment of the Club goals and exceeding member expectations.
