Technical Sales Specialist

LaserSharp FlexPak Services, LLC specializes in cutting edge laser processing and equipment for the flexible packaging industry. The ideal candidate is a self-driven and highly motivated person who wants to be part of our team and works closely with Sales and Applications/process development teams to engage our customers. The Technical Sales is responsible for promoting Converting services, LaserSharp® technology and equipment, and company’s products, identifying new opportunities and services, developing new customer relationships, and managing existing accounts.
Position Reports to: Sales Manager
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develops and presents Flexpak solutions
- Qualifies new and existing leads, including maintenance of customer information in SalesForce database
- Coordinates all customer activities assuring all the highest level of customer satisfaction and quality is maintained
- Makes daily phone calls to both prospective and existing customers and conducts on-site visits at least once a month
- Arrange customer visits and trials to demonstrate our technology, products, and services
- Gathers information on customer products and/or current issues and presents solutions
- Acquires files, specifications, budgets, and quantities for customer proposals
- Researches sources and best strategies for developing prospective customers
- Responsible for the sales of Company products, achieving sales goals and profit goals
- Work directly with our outstanding sales team from initial discovery to deal close to shorten sales cycles and improve closing rate
- Engages in interactive pre-sales discovery meetings, analysis of customers’ current technology and competition that leads into a sale
- Partner with Applications Engineer to ensure maximum technical effectiveness and consistent customer experience throughout the Sales process
- Develop new customer accounts and ensure customer retention
- Follows Sales Metrics policy in submitting monthly activity reports
- Includes daily cold call reports, weekly work plans, lead entering and conversions, and tracking against forecast
- Assists in Marketing activities of FlexPak and target services
- Maintains complete business and technical knowledge of company products, LaserSharp® technology and equipment, and services
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintains complete knowledge of sales procedures including Quotations, Pricing, Terms, and Credit Requirements
- Assists Sales Manager in the creation of various sales reports and analytics
- Submits weekly sales activity reports as required by the Sales Manager
- Obtains information regarding competitor’s capabilities including strengths and weaknesses of competitive services
- Travels offsite for customer visits and other sales-related activities
- Attends and participates in exhibitions, seminars, and tradeshows
- Support Production and Operations as needed
- Other duties as assigned by the Sales Manager
Qualifications:
- Technical degree or Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering
- 1-2 years of experience in sales, customer support role and/or account management
- Knowledge of flexible packaging materials, film handling equipment, industrial lasers and laser material processing
- Thorough understanding of MS Office and ERP systems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail with excellent prioritization skills
- Ability to represent FlexPak in a persuasive and professional manner
- Ability to work in a fast paced, team focused environment
- Demonstrated critical thinking skills
- Naturally team-oriented with a mission-first attitude
- Travel expected to be 30% to engage with customers and prospects in person
