Job Description:

At ITW Welding, we are passionate about delivering premium welding, cutting, consumables, and accessories through some of the most trusted brands in the industry: Miller Electric Welding Equipment, Safety & Accessories, Hobart Filler Metals, and Bernard/Tregaskiss MIG Guns.

We are headquartered in Appleton, Wisconsin, and are a proud division of Illinois Tool Works (NYSE: ITW), a Fortune 200 company with operations around the world. Since 1929, we have grown from a one-person operation into the world’s largest manufacturer of arc welding products by focusing on people, innovation, and performance.

Our culture is rooted in collaboration, empowerment, and customer success—it’s what makes us a global leader.

The Opportunity

We’re looking for an experienced Sales Manager to lead our newly formed laser sales team in North America.  Handheld laser welding is a relatively new technology in the fabrication industry.  It has a clear value proposition but is still an emerging technology with huge growth potential.  The laser sales manager will have the opportunity to unleash the full potential of handheld laser technology though leading a talented team of laser specialists, in collaboration with our broader generalist sales team at Miller.

This is a key leadership role responsible for:

  • Driving profitable growth and market share
  • Inspiring and developing a talented sales team
  • Executing ITW Welding’s North American laser sales strategy in a dynamic and competitive market
  • Building strong relationships with distributors and end users

If you thrive on building relationships, leading people, and making a measurable impact, this is the role for you.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead & Inspire: Provide clarity, direction, and motivation to the laser sales team to achieve ambitious goals.
  • Develop Talent: Coach and support team members, creating a strong, diverse pipeline of talent for the future.
  • Align & Execute: Collaborate with regional sales teams to identify and target high-potential accounts and drive growth.
  • Strengthen Partnerships: Build and maintain strategic relationships with key distribution partners.
  • Engage Customers: Connect with end users to understand their needs and influence preference for ITW Welding laser solutions.

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (master’s preferred)
  • 5+ years of sales or sales management experience in a technical, industrial, or manufacturing environment
  • Proven leadership and team development skills
  • Strong understanding of distribution channel management
  • Exceptional communication, strategic thinking, and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office and CRM platforms (Salesforce.com preferred)
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 50% overnight

As an equal employment opportunity employer, ITW is committed to equal employment opportunity and fair treatment for employees, beginning with the hiring process and continuing through all aspects of the employment relationship.
