Job Description

We’re looking for an Audiobook Content Coordinator (North America) to support our content team with administrative and creative tasks that will contribute to the growth of Yoto at an exciting moment in the company’s journey.

About Yoto

Yoto is a screen-free interactive audio platform for kids. We make carefully connected audio players that kids control, with no microphones, cameras or ads. We have a catalogue of audio that inspires creative play and learning with 1,000+ titles in our card store from top creators, publishers and labels - think Disney, Marvel, Roald Dahl and Universal Music. We also create Yoto Originals like this one.

  • Featured in Bloomberg’s 25 UK startups to watch in 2023.
  • Second fastest growing tech company in the UK, in Deloitte Fast50 2023.
  • Named one of TIME Magazine’s Top 100 Inventions of 2020
  • Winner in Good Housekeeping’s 2022 Parenting Awards.
  • We’re 130+ employees spread across the UK, US and France.. and growing!

We’re on a mission to be the soundtrack of childhood, and help families on their own unique adventures. By creating products that inspire independent play, we help families discover and grow with an inspiring world of audio - and we would like you to help us achieve it!

Yoto’s Content Team

Content is at the heart of our business, and we have a dedicated team of children’s media specialists – with experience across publishing, music, education, and audio production – who carefully consider every title that makes it into our library. We license existing audio from some of the biggest names in the world of kids’ entertainment (Disney, Penguin Random House, Mattel, HarperCollins and more), and also develop and produce our own content as part of our Yoto Originals range.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Manage North America's content pipeline, addressing production issues and collaborating with internal teams.
  • Maintain content tracker, with metadata and contractual information for North America titles.
  • Coordinate scheduling and ensure timely asset delivery for new titles.
  • Negotiate fees with rights owners, draft contracts, and manage contract tracking, with wider content and legal teams.
  • Assist with royalty tracking and reporting, DEI research for new acquisitions and proofreading.
  • Support the wider team with research, approvals, and data compilation.
  • Maintain contacts spreadsheet and track community content requests and engagement.
  • Schedule international conference attendance for Yoto and support ad hoc scheduling while monitoring budget spend.

What you’ll bring:

  • 3+ years of administrative experience in the publishing, licensing or children’s media industry.
  • A passion for audio content, children’s media and inclusive content.
  • Excellent attention to detail, a high level of organization and efficiency (this is a job that requires maintaining a lot of important documents, so this is a must!).
  • Excellent verbal communication, with the ability to build strong links within the company, which operates in a hybrid environment.
  • Confidence in learning to operate new platforms (such as Monday.com).
  • The ability to work collaboratively within a team, and also manage your own projects.
  • Ability to think on your feet, work independently, and learn fast.
  • Spanish language fluency is preferred.
  • Knowledge of the Canadian publishing market is preferred, but not essential.

Salary: Up to $60,000 based on experience.

What you can expect from us:

  • Hybrid working with a choice-based approach - For those in NYC, we would love for you to come into the New York office once a week, if not more.

  • 31 PTO days per year (20 vacation days, 11 holidays).

  • Health, dental and vision insurance - 85% of costs for you and your family paid for by Yoto.

  • 401(k) plan matching up to 4%, after 6 months of service.

  • A Work from Anywhere policy that gives you the opportunity to work from a different location for a temporary period.

  • Your own Yoto player and starter pack of cards! Plus 20% staff discounts on the whole Yoto range.

  • 2x volunteer days per year.

  • A collaborative tech-focused creative environment, with a downtown Brooklyn office for NYC based employees.

  • Company socials and celebrations, including our annual YotoFest!
