Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accounting Manager to join our organization. As an Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily accounting operations, managing a team of accountants, and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records. You will play a crucial role in financial reporting, review client billing, serve as the point of contact for clients, and compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Management:
- Manage the overall financial operations, including general ledger maintenance, accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and fixed assets.
- Ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions and maintain proper documentation for auditing purposes.
- Monitor and analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
- Prepare financial statements, reports, and forecasts for management and external stakeholders.
- Team Leadership and Development:
- Supervise and mentor a team of accountants, including hiring, training, and performance management.
- Delegate tasks, set priorities, and ensure deadlines are met.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment, promoting professional growth and development within the team.
- Provide guidance and support to resolve complex accounting issues and ensure compliance with accounting principles and regulations.
- Financial Reporting and Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, regulations, and company policies.
- Prepare and submit accurate and timely financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual statements.
- Coordinate and facilitate internal and external audits, ensuring all audit requirements are met.
- Monitor and implement changes in accounting regulations and standards, and assess their impact on the organization's financial processes.
- Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to develop annual budgets and financial forecasts.
- Monitor and analyze budget performance, providing insights and recommendations to management.
- Assist in the preparation of financial projections and business plans to support strategic decision-making.
- Identify areas for cost reduction, process improvement, and revenue enhancement.
- Process Improvement and System Enhancement:
- Continuously evaluate and improve accounting processes, systems, and controls to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Identify opportunities for automation and integration of financial systems and processes.
- Collaborate with IT and other departments to implement financial software upgrades and enhancements.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA certification is strongly preferred.
- Proven work experience as an Accounting Manager or in a similar role.
- In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and regulations (GAAP, IFRS, etc.).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Experience with QuickBooks, Drake, or other tax software is a plus.
- Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong ethics and integrity, with a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and safeguarding financial information.
