Job Description
Salary: $130,000 - $160,000

Title: Senior Director 

Department: Project 

Reporting to: VP, Insights & People 

Location: Flexible – offices in Los Angeles, CA and Seattle, WA 

Total Compensation: $130,000 - $160,000 

 

The Senior Director is responsible for ensuring the client experience is the best Hypothesis has to offer. They act as the client's project lead by applying thought leadership, leading client touchpoint meetings, leading analytic planning, helping their team develop impactful data stories, presenting the research story, and maintaining strong levels of client satisfaction. This person also helps develop proposals, owns an area of expertise within Hypothesis, and manages several direct reports. 

 

Client Impact: 

  • Cultivate a deep understanding of clients’ businesses and objectives 
  • Act as a trusted partner to clients, and maintain strong client satisfaction 
  • Collaborate with Client Partners on the strategic direction of client accounts by providing input and insights on the client and industry trends 
  • Maintain strong gross margin and profitability across projects 
  • Partner in developing strong proposals that answer clients’ strategic business questions 
  • Lead strategic meetings with clients throughout the Project Lifecycle 
  • Lead the overall project planning process and manages the scope of work 
  • Create qualitative and quantitative outlines using strategic research experience and skills 
  • Lead analysis and storytelling by translating data into critical themes and by guiding the team to build strong impactful stories that exceed the client’s expectations 
  • Own delivery and presentation of final report to client, and answer clients’ follow-up questions 

 

Team Impact: 

  • Manage several direct reports 
  • Lead and encourage direct reports to accomplish personal and company and team goals 
  • Provide clear expectations of work performance, and regularly provide positive and constructive feedback and coaching to help direct reports reach their full potential in their roles 
  • Identify training and growth development needs for direct reports and create learning plans with clear goals and timelines for completion  
  • Teach direct reports on how to translate client objectives into critical outlines 
  • Address individual and team conflicts when needed in a prompt, professional manner  
  • Conduct annual performance reviews

  • Contribute to the strategic direction of the company by growing client satisfaction and developing strong teams and talent 
  • Champion an area of expertise within the organization and serve as a subject matter expert 
  • Contribute to company culture and champion the Hypothesis Way 

 

What You Have:  

  • Bachelor’s degree or advanced degree preferred 
  • 10+ years of experience in market research 
  • 5+ years of management experience 
  • Deep understanding and knowledge of quantitative and qualitative methodologies
