Job Description:

The Director, Supply Chain is an operationally-focused leader who is responsible for creating a procurement and vendor management strategy that our field team can rely on to deliver exceptional service quality to our customers. Our parts strategy is a critical aspect of delivering on these commitments and the leader will play a key role at the table in shaping the direction of the business.

The Director, Supply Chain will be responsible for leading a comprehensive strategic transformation around procurement vendor management and inventory tracking. Minimizing ordering cost, negotiating pricing, securing long-term strategic inventory, and improving real-time parts tracking are critical tasks the chosen leader will be responsible for. The Director, Supply Chain should coordinate all improvement efforts with teams across the organization, with the overarching goal of ensuring parts are delivered on time, inexpensively and efficiently to the field.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Own the supply chain function end-to-end, including critical elements like procurement, vendor negotiation, logistics, parts availability and inventory tracking.
  • Manage the overall supply chain spend, maintain forecasts, and proactively work to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
  • Manage a U.S. and overseas-based supply chain team, including building critical capabilities and fostering talent.
  • Ensure emergency parts and services are sourced at an affordable cost with immediate effect to support operations.
  • Build and manage a parts demand forecast based on available NSPS data to drive procurement of all parts and services on an annual basis.
  • Develop KPIs to measure and track the efficacy and performance of the supply chain function.
  • Manage key supplier relationships to ensure products of appropriate quality are delivered on time, on budget and ensure NSPS is a key partner to suppliers.
  • Develop an obsolete parts strategy including sourcing, pricing, and design / IP considerations.

Minimum Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in business, Management, Supply Chain, Engineering/Technical Degree.
  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in procurement and supply chain management.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems, ideally SalesForce and Netsuite.

Other Pertinent Requirements

  • Experience leading and developing people and teams, particularly in a field services organization.
  • Hands-on, operationally-focused leader willing to ‘roll up their sleeves’ and work alongside their direct reports.
  • Comfort in analyzing existing processes, people and systems, and starting from a ‘blank slate’ to overcome challenges and build on areas of success.
  • Effective project management, negotiation, vendor management, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Experience in construction or solar O&M is a plus.
  • 25% of travel required.
  • This is an office-based position in Chandler, AZ. Relocation assistance will be provided to the selected candidate.
