Job Description

Position Function:

This position assists the Retail Credit Delivery department in assuring all Direct Consumer and Scored Small Business lending applications are received, processed, documented and signed in accordance with established bank guidelines while ensuring the highest level of accuracy is achieved in a timely manner.

Performs all duties and interacts with internal and external customers in a manner that is expressly aligned with the Company's Core Values of approaching all actions with a “Voyaging Spirit” and being “Positively Ohana”. Primary Accountabilities:

  • Facilitates the intake and review of Direct Consumer and Scored Small Business loan applications. Determines whether the request is complete and accurate. Inputs, retrieves, or directs information into loan origination or applicable computer systems. Answers questions related to the in-branch application entry processes. Creates and organizes loan application files with required documents and forwards to credit officer for review.
  • Monitors and verifies the receipt of requested documents from branch personnel, loan applicants, and third parties to ensure timely processing. Follows up and obtains missing documents by way of verbal or written requests with various parties as necessary.
  • Prepares Direct Consumer, Scored Small Business, and Collateral Loan documentation in a timely and accurate manner. Proactively works with relationship officers to identify requirements related to the documentation requests including anything that may affect or delay loan closing. Involves all appropriate parties to resolve any documentation issues. Demonstrates good knowledge of the bank’s credit policies and documentation standards.
  • Work with outside vendors and companies such as a title companies, other financial institutions, Bureau of Conveyances, internal and external attorneys, insurance agents, etc. which may be required to complete loan documentation requests.
  • Coordinates loan signings with bank personnel and/or loan applicants, and reviews signed documents for completeness and accuracy.
  • Ensures that documentation file is organized based on the bank’s standards and any exceptions are approved by an appropriate authority. Works with relationship officers to resolve any post documentation follow up items.
  • Prepares instructions for disbursing loan proceeds in accordance with the terms set forth in the loan approval and/or lending unit’s instructions.
  • Submits completed loan documents to loan operations area for loan booking, and monitors progress to ensure timely loan booking.
  • Ensures adverse action notices and other regulatory requirements are provided to applicants in a compliant manner. Assists with other post approval/declination duties.
  • Assists with various department-wide projects as necessary. Makes process improvement recommendations to continually increase efficiency.
  • With experience will work more independently with less direct oversight and more self-direction. May be exposed to loan decisioning approval role with appropriate retail lending authority.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:

  • High School Diploma required.

Experience:

  • 1+ years of experience processing retail lending products or 1+ years of experience in Consumer / Small Business documentation and reading legal documents required.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:

  • Must be able to perform light physical work and to move or lift items including but not limited to boxes, files and papers up to 20 pounds unless otherwise as indicated.
  • Must be able to operate and proficiently use standard office equipment, including phone, copier, personal computer and/or other work related mechanical or electronic devices and applications.
  • Must be able to clearly communicate verbally and in writing with all internal and external customers. Must also be able to hear sufficiently to engage in daily discussions and interactions.
  • Must be able to read and understand bank-related documents.
  • Must be able to work in a conventional office setting, involving sitting at a desk or workstation for long periods of time. Must also be able to adapt to different work environments as needed to perform the job.
