The Position

As an Assistant Project Manager on the commercial team in the HVAC/Plumbing industry, you will play a crucial role in assisting with the planning, execution, and monitoring of projects. Working closely with the Project Manager, you will ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain valuable experience in project management within a rapidly growing industry.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Project Manager to develop project plans, including scope, budget, and timeline, while considering client requirements and local codes and regulations.
• Assist in the allocation of resources, including labor, materials, and equipment, to ensure projects are adequately staffed and resourced.
• Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors to secure necessary materials and services, ensuring they meet quality and timeline expectations.
• Monitor project expenses and assist in tracking project costs to ensure they align with the approved budget.
• Conduct regular site inspections to ensure work is performed to the highest quality standards and in compliance with safety regulations.
• Maintain clear and open communication with clients, providing updates on project progress, addressing concerns, and ensuring overall satisfaction.
• Maintain accurate project documentation, including contracts, change orders, permits, and project reports.
• Identify potential project risks and assist in developing mitigation strategies to minimize project delays and cost overruns.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, technicians, and contractors, to ensure seamless project execution.
• Promote and enforce safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe work environment.
  
  

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in project management in the commercial HVAC/Plumbing industry
• Strong understanding of HVAC/Plumbing systems, equipment, and installation processes
• Proficient in project management software and tools
• Knowledge of local building codes and regulations
• Ability to travel to project sites as needed
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Must possess excellent organizational skills
• Proficient in office software (Word, Excel, Google Drive, etc.)
• Must be able to lift 20lbs and stand for long periods of time
