Job description

Program Summary

KBR is looking for a Project Manager to support the readiness and sustainment of various USAF weapons systems and support equipment at Tinker AFB, OK. This is a full-time position located in the KBR Midwest City, OK office.

The successful candidate will be responsible for determining project requirements, managing non-recurring engineering activities to modernize and sustain USAF weapon systems at the component, assembly, LRU or SRU level while optimizing availability, reliability, and maintainability. The Project Manager will be responsible for multiple projects addressing reliability, sustainment, DMSMS issues, obsolescence, reverse engineering, and redesign. Many projects may involve establishing System Requirements, Design, Prototype Development, Qualification Testing (ground and flight) and integration. Projects may include insuring Airworthiness, Reliability Centered Maintenance, Condition Based Maintenance (CBM+), Avionics and future sustainability and repair capabilities are integrated into the products. Participate in local and external audits.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Developing plans including budgets and schedules to meet contractual/project requirements for several projects. Preparing Budget Input Sheets to document Cost to Complete for labor, material, travel, ODCs, and subcontracting. Maintain and understand Cost, Schedule, Status Reports (CSSR) weekly.
  • Engage with vendors and customers to meet contractual obligations. Prepare purchase specifications and Statements of Work for a subcontract. Obtain multiple quotes from possible sources of supply for a purchase or subcontract. Evaluate quotes for cost and schedule. Prepare Purchase Requests, Sole Source Justifications, and assist contracting officer to ensure subcontracts get awarded.
  • Monitor and report performance against plans to ensure that contractual, cost and schedule objectives are met. Prepare subcontract modifications as required when requirements change. Prepare and update Risk Registers for projects. Populate and update project folders.
  • Prepare bi-weekly activity reports (Project Notes), Monthly Status Reports (MSR), annual Contractor Performance Assessment Reporting System (CPARS), briefings as required, participate in weekly Staff Meetings and monthly management training.

This work requires capabilities for system engineering and integration, risk management, technical assessment, acquisition program management, strategy development, organization and change management, interface with operations and logistics, business analysis, and mission effectiveness.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering, Science, or Business
  • 0-5 years of professional experience

Preferred Skills and Experience

The ideal candidate will possess and/or demonstrate

  • Aerospace experience with the Government at Tinker AFB
  • Experience in developing system design and performance requirements, prototype development
  • Experience in qualification testing and product integration
  • Strong organizational and personal skills
  • Strong technical writing and communication skills
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification

ADDITIONAL NOTES:

  • This position may require occasional travel to subcontractor's facilities locally and nationally.
  • Applicant selected may be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
  • If hired, candidate will work towards Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
