TITLE:  PURCHASING MANAGER

REPORTS TO:  SHOP FOREMAN/CFO 

JOB PURPOSE:

The ideal candidate will bring previous knowledge of truck and heavy equipment parts to ensure the technicians get the correct items needed to repair equipment quickly and efficiently. Will be responsible for all shop purchases, ordering, receiving, and invoice reconciliation.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Make repair and supply purchases year-round for the Hwy 53 shop, Hwy 53 fabrication shop, pump shop, Stateline mixer shop, precast manufacturing and fabrication, concrete and asphalt plant.
• Research parts prior to purchase to verify they are correct for make, model and type of equipment. 
• Establish a purchase order system and stock supplies for mechanics and fabricators.
• Work directly with Shop foreman/leads and vendors to obtain favorable pricing and reasonable freight charges, researching as necessary.
• Responsible for streamlining current purchasing processes, educating, and training as necessary.
• Receive goods and confirm quoted price to invoice; follow up as needed
• Responsible for compiling documentation for payment processing and coding to proper general ledger account
• Establish new vendors as required
• Work with vendors to establish a method to receive invoices with proper taxations recorded at the time of purchase.
• Maintain authorized purchaser list with local suppliers.
• Work closely with the office to ensure timely and accurate delivery of invoices.
