Location of Position:

Houston, TX

The Position:

We are growing the family office to manage personal and financial affairs of 2nd and 3rd generation Willbanks family members. The Willbanks family founded Willbanks & Associates (www.Willbanksinc.com) and Teal (www.TealSystems.com). The family office will be handling a variety of personal and investment entity financial and administrative duties including bookkeeping, liaison with CPAs, other affiliated offices, and stakeholders.

The Senior Family Trust Manager will oversee the financial matters of the family. This can include personal financial investment oversight and financial reporting as well as legal.

 

What you’ll do

 

  • Oversee the bookkeeping of 4 - 5 households and 10-15 investment entities and assist with personal asset management and consolidation.
  • Create personal profit and loss statements and balance sheets and prepare financial presentations when needed.
  • Prepare financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing accounting information.
  • Maintain records of financial transactions by establishing accounts, posting transactions, and ensuring legal requirements compliance.
  • Maintain historical records by filing documents.
  • Compile date for performance of operating entities and/or personal investments.
  • Assist with various real estate properties and the accounting/finance related matters for each.
  • Serve as a point of contact for outside investments, including coordination with counsel, financial advisors, banks & lenders.
  • Coordinate matters relating to estate planning.
  • Assist with tax coordination including interaction with tax preparers.
  • Participate in client and internal meetings as directed by Family members.
  • Gather documents and file loan applications.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required
  • 1-3 years of experience in public accounting focusing on trusts required
  • 1-3 years of experience as a tax accountant with a focus on Family and Trust Taxes preferred
  • 3+ years of experience in personal bookkeeping for numerous entities
  • Real estate or paralegal experience preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and QuickBooks required
