Shift Leader, 2nd Shift

The Production Lead plays a critical role in day-to-day production activities by acting as a liaison between the production supervisor and assigned production team. Actively participates in all production related activities while helping to provide direction, monitor quality, and ensure production projects are efficiently completed within the anticipated deadline. Must be flexible and organized, have a high attention to detail, team orientated, and possess and share appropriately a broad-based knowledge of company operations.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ability to successfully perform a wide range of daily production tasks, while maintaining a broad understanding of the overall concept of the manufacturing life-cycle.
• Act as a liaison between production supervisor and assigned production team. Act in a professional manner that builds team synergy and an energized work environment.
• Participates in all production related activities while helping to provide direction and training to assigned personnel – including temporary employees. Take team ownership for the quality and integrity of components and finished goods.
• Work collaboratively to ensure production projects are safely, efficiently, and accurately completed within the anticipated deadline. Frequently monitor, resolve, and report quality, production, and safety concerns.
• Provide guidance/coaching to production cell personnel. Understand and anticipate the needs of the team. Convey issues and suggest recommendations to production supervisor accordingly.
• Attend, participate and provide input at production meetings, team activities, and CI events as required.
• Assist in and provide input as necessary with budgeting, human resource activities, production planning, and adjusting schedules.
• Help to ensure that production quality, safety, and personnel rules and regulations are followed.
• Support in the administrative effort to prepare reports, send emails, PTO recommendations.
• Provide coaching and encouragement to help enrich and maintain a successful work environment.
• Track and report results as requested. Process production documentation and/or reports accurately as required using industry standard software such as Docuware, X3, Microsoft Office, etc.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School diploma or equivalent; Associate degree or Trade/Technical School Certification preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills
• In-depth knowledge of the work procedures with ability to train and communicate with others.
• Good organizational, leadership and time management skills.
• Sound math and analytical skills with the ability to make decisions, notice inconsistencies, and perform basic calculations such as add, subtract, multiple and divide.
• Comprehend and retain English language with the ability to effectively communicate through reading, speaking and writing.
• Proficient computer skills required to input data, print/track orders, and perform numerous tasks related the production, Continuous Improvement, and shipping process.
• High degree of attention required to prevent injury to self and others.
• Ability to follow and clearly provide instructions for operating equipment and keeping required records.
• Execute assignments in an accurate, timely and safe manner with the ability to perform task through to completion.
• Capacity to maintain a clean and safe working environment including wearing PPE as required.
• Participate and pass all company forklift training per OSHA mandate once every year.
