Chemical Operator

Responsibilities

· Process chemicals according to established formulas or experimental procedures through reactors, filters and evaporators, performing basic laboratory testing, evaluating and recording results, and preparing, packaging and documenting chemical products for shipment.

· Follow batch records to produce products while operating reactors, dryers and other plant equipment.

· Understand various processes including pumping, drying, filtration, packaging, etc.

· Strong communication skills are required in order to make sound decisions and alert management in the event of any process disruptions.

· Trouble-shoot based on shift notes.

· Remain familiar with quality system and processes including near miss, MOC and Notice Log and plant production processes.

· Prepare and set up processing equipment. Required to lift and move items over fifty pounds.

· Remain up to date on required PPE and ensure the use of all safety gear.

· Expected to review safety data sheets in order to prepare adequately for potential hazards.

· Attend monthly Safety meetings.

· Maintain 1C/3A hoisting license.

· Maintain boiler operator license.

· Maintain wastewater license.

· Maintain understanding of Nyacol’s quality system and quality policy.

· Expected to work with minimal supervision.

· Use in-house software and programs such as Excel and BatchMaster to perform job duties.

Educational Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience Required: Professional experience in a related position or field preferred.
