Chemical Operator II

Pay Rate: $23.00/ HR
Location: Kings Mountain, NC
Schedule: Monday- Friday | 6 AM -2 PM

About the Job
Personnel Services Unlimited is hiring an experienced Chemical Operator II for a manufacturing client in the King Mountain, NC area.
This role is a step up from entry-level; you’ll:
  • Read and follow detailed production instructions
  • Measure and mix materials to exact specs
  • Check finished products for quality before approval
  • Work independently and help guide less experienced operators
What You’ll Do:
  • Mix and prepare chemical products according to detailed production instructions, selecting the correct equipment and materials for each job.
  • Check finished batches against quality specs before approving them for the next stage.
  • Keep accurate production logs (tracking output, materials consumed, scrap, and any defects).
  • Handle hazardous waste responsibly, including proper container labeling, storage, and timely removal to designated disposal areas.
  • Complete required annual safety training related to hazardous materials handling and emergency response.
  • Know and follow spill and emergency response procedures.
  • Support inventory counts and help maintain accurate material usage records
  • Be ready to step into general chemical handling duties as needed
  • Run a forklift as part of daily material movement
  • Log materials and finished goods using a handheld scanner system.
  • Keep your work area clean and organized.
What We’re Looking For:
  • Previous chemical manufacturing and batch mixing experience strongly preferred.
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Solid English reading, writing, and communication skills (able to follow written and spoken instructions).
  • Comfortable with Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
  • Willingness to obtain forklift certification within 30 days of hire.
Physical Requirements:
This is a hands-on, active role in a warehouse/production setting.
  • On your feet, walking, reaching, and balancing most of the shift
  • Occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Forklift operation and use of lifting equipment for heavier materials
  • Facility temperature varies by season (not always climate-controlled)
  • Some exposure to chemical odors (non-toxic, irritant-level) and moderate noise
  • Safety gear provided —including eye protection, protective footwear, protective clothing, and a respirator when required.
