As a Chemical Process Operator, you will work a rotating shift in our chemical manufacturing plant and will perform operating activities as part of the manufacturing team to ensure the safe and efficient production and packing of titanium dioxide pigment and associated products. The Chemical Operator is responsible for safe and proper operation of equipment in his/her area in accordance with the standard operating instructions, company policies and shift supervisor's instructions. 

This is a safety critical role.

Key activities include:

  • Adherence to all SHE policies and procedures and INEOS Pigments' 20 principles of process and Behavioral Safety and Life Saving Rules
  • Makes appropriate adjustments to meet safety, quality, and environmental requirements.  Tends equipment or semi-automatic systems that processes chemical substances into industrial intermediate and finished products.
  • Reports and/or resolves conditions affecting safety, efficiency or product quality with peers, technical or supervisory personnel. Troubleshoots equipment problems and process upsets.
  • Monitors in-process quality results for slurry production and packaging quality for dry production. Monitors maintenance activity in the area, including signing of work permits.
  • Perform Job Tasks as outlined in SOPs.
  • Perform quality-related jobs as indicated in the Quality Procedures Documents of the Unit.
  • Completes all documentation accurately
  • Reviews, comprehends and follows all company rules, policies and guidelines
  • Adhere to current Collective Bargaining Agreement. 
  • Other duties as assigned 

You will ideally have:

  • Completed High School education
  • Experience with shift work
  • The highest regard for safety processes and Personal Protective Equipment requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to work in an adaptable team environment
  • Ability to problem solve and make decisions
  • Ability to write legibly and read decimals
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Good computing skills in basic Office software plus an ability to comprehend other data presented electronically
  • Previous work in a chemical plant or similar industrial environment is a plus
  • A Chemical Operators Certificate or a recognized trade qualification is a plus

This is a 12-hour day and night rotating shift position.
