Chemical plants are the soul behind industry in today’s world and the chemicals they manufacture have a wide application across many industries and sectors. Chemical plants produce raw materials and essential components required by other industries to produce their products. The output from chemical plants, such as MFG Chemical, is essential for modern factories and industries to function. There are no industrial processes that do not require chemicals in the manufacturing process. It is chemical plants that are tasked with the responsibility of supplying the required chemicals to the various industries and companies.

From pharmaceutical to manufacturing to mineral and mining industries, chemicals see widespread usage across all sectors and industries and are of vital importance in the manufacturing of medicine and essential chemical compounds that affect the production of the necessities of daily living.

At MFG, the CHEMICAL OPERATOR is responsible for operating batch chemical processing systems according to batch record instructions in a safe, efficient and clean manner. He must recognize any significant operational hazards such as, pressure/temperature extremes, rapid-reaction/explosion risks, personnel exposure risks, environmental contamination risks, and etc. This Operator must have the demonstrated ability to carry out assigned process operations with direct supervision.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 Provide support in the gathering of required raw materials, preparing/cleaning process equipment, drumming and other qualified duties as directed.

 Follow safety procedures and use proper safety equipment for all assigned tasks.

 Operate material handling equipment such as hand trucks and powered lift trucks.

 Conduct plant housekeeping, general maintenance and landscaping duties as directed.

 Participate in safety programs.

 Participate in supervised training programs.

 This position reports directly to the Shift Supervisor or Lead Operator.

 Maintain a clean and safe operating area.

 Follow safety procedures and use proper safety equipment for all assigned tasks.

 Learn and practice environmental, health and safety regulations and wear the prescribed personal protective equipment.

 Manufacture batches and maintain proper use of production equipment. Ensure inventory accuracy in accordance to established policies.

 Maintain a clean production area and equipment. Ensure Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are followed and work area meets all requirements for housekeeping.

 Weigh, measure, and check raw materials to ensure batches manufactured contain proper ingredients and quantities.

 Assist in maintenance activities as required.

QUALIFICATIONS: The minimum qualifications required to successfully perform this job include:

 High school diploma or equivalent required.

 Effective written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills required and competent in reading and speaking the English language

 Basic mathematical skills and chemical knowledge.

 Basic knowledge of MFG's chemical process or prior experience in a similar work environment.

 Work Ethic and Safe work practices

JOB DESCRIPTION:.

 Ability to safely operate an industrial fork truck required

 Ability to comply with all mandatory Environmental, Health, & Safety and process specific

 Ability to adjust to work schedule, including weekends and on-call, to meet business need required.

WORKING CONDITIONS: This position has exposure to the chemical production area of the plant. Hard hats and safety glasses are required on the production floor and area at all times. Must be able to work in a warehouse facility where temperatures may range from 32°F up to 105°F as well as work outside in all weather conditions.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

 Ability to lift and carry up to up to 50 pounds, frequently.

 Ability to sit, stand, and climb stairs for up to 12 hours per day.

 Able to climb ladders and work at heights up to 20 feet, on occasion.

 Ability to work in a warehouse facility where temperatures may range from 32 up to 105 degrees Fahrenheit; as well as work outside in all weather conditions.

 Able to perform manual dexterity tasks.

 Occasional turning, twisting, stooping, bending, and reaching.

 Ability to wear a respirator for up to 4 hours a day. Please refer to SOP for facial hair guidelines.

 Able to work in a non-smoking, tobacco-free site.
