Controlled Environment Technician (I,II or Senior)

HIGHLIGHTS
Location:  Indianapolis, IN 46201
Position Type: Direct Hire, paid hourly at $20-40 an hour based on skill and experience
Residency Status: US Citizen or Green Card Holder ONLY

Travel - up to 100% 

Position Summary:
The Controlled Environment Technician I - is responsible for certifying, testing, and maintaining Clean Rooms, hoods, and infusion centers in pharmacies, laboratories, and hospitals nationwide. This role involves national travel to service accounts, utilize job scheduling systems, provide customer service, and report on equipment performance.
The Controlled Environment Technician II - role also includes the ability to assist in the training of new hires and sharing of industry knowledge to colleagues.
The Controlled Environment Senior Technician - role will also report into and under the direct supervisor of the designated territory manager.

Essential Job Functions:

Technician I-

  • Verify and certify Clean Rooms, Biological Safety Cabinets, Laminar Flow Hoods, Fume Hoods, and other controlled environment equipment for MTA accounts.
  • Travel nationally to test, certify, and maintain/repair-controlled environment equipment.
  • Use Field Aware system for job scheduling, tracking, and time reporting.
  • Utilize MS Excel for mathematical computations for customer reporting.
  • Deliver high-quality customer service and reports on equipment performance.
  • Report daily activities and field issues to the support center.
  • Pass leads to Sales Representatives.
  • Adhere to safety regulations and maintain clean work areas.
  • Wear proper safety garments.
  • Maintain the vehicle and equipment professionally.
  • Diagnose problems, replace/repair parts, test, and make adjustments.
  • Other duties as assigned by management or Senior Technicians

Technician II- also includes:

  • Use MTA TeamUp calendar to track all future jobs and make sure the calendar is up to date and accurate.
  • Assist with training of new hires to further develop the region.
  • Assist sales with any help or direction that they may require.

Senior Technician- also includes:

  • Assist sales with any help or direction that they may require.

Physical Demands:

  • Lift up to 50lbs.
  • Carry equipment, climb ladders, sit, stand, lift, bend, hold equipment, and drive for extended periods.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

  • Full-time position, typically Monday-Friday with variable hours based on job/facility requirements.
  • Some nights, weekends, and overnight travel may be required.

Travel:

  • 75% or more travel required, with possible overnight stays.

Qualifications: Tech I

  • CETA, NEBB, or NSF certification preferred (not required initially).
  • Obtain industry certifications within 2-3 years.
  • Background in air balancing, biomedical, pharmaceutical, HVAC, environmental testing, and clean rooms preferred.
  • 1-3 years of prior experience as a Field Service Technician.
  • Strong mathematical, mechanical, and electrical aptitude.
  • Basic computer skills and experience with Microsoft applications.
  • Detail-oriented, proactive, with a passion for quality and accuracy.
  • Highly organized, exceptional customer service skills, professional appearance, and behavior.
  • Ability to travel, work flexible hours, and adjust schedules to meet customer needs.

Tech II:

  • At least one of the following certifications CETA, NEBB, or NSF
  • 3-5 years of prior industry experience

Senior Tech:

  • At least two of the following certifications CETA, NEBB, or NSF
  • Minimum of 5-10 years of prior industry experience
