Join our dynamic team as a Chief Engineer in the heart of Austin, TX, where you’ll play a pivotal role in enhancing the performance and sustainability of a portfolio of medical office buildings. What You’ll Do:

  • Pioneer Maintenance Excellence:** Spearhead a comprehensive maintenance strategy, incorporating everything from routine fixes to advanced preventative measures across building systems, with a keen focus on HVAC efficiency, energy conservation, lighting innovation, and robust fire/life safety protocols.
  • Manage cutting-edge computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) to streamline operations, ensuring the highest levels of operational efficiency and tenant satisfaction.
  • Champion Tenant Relations: Act as the first point of contact for tenant concerns, swiftly addressing and resolving issues, reinforcing the reputation of our facilities as responsive and tenant-focused.
  • Drive Team Success: Lead, mentor, and inspire a dedicated team of maintenance professionals, fostering an environment of continuous improvement and skill enhancement.
  • Financial Stewardship: Play a critical role in the financial health of our operations by overseeing budgets, managing contracts, and guiding capital expenditure decisions with a strategic lens.
  • Sustainability and Safety Leadership: Advocate for and implement sustainable practices within our operations, contributing to a healthier planet while ensuring strict adherence to safety standards and protocols.

Qualifications:

  • A seasoned professional with at least 5 years in facility management, ideally in a healthcare setting, bringing a wealth of knowledge in building systems, particularly HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
  • A strategic thinker with a solid background in managing maintenance schedules, budgets, and teams, capable of making data-driven decisions.
  • Exceptionally organized and adept at multitasking, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • A strong communicator with an ability to foster positive relationships with tenants, vendors, and team members.
  • Technologically savvy, with proficiency in Microsoft Office, Building Automation Software, and work order management systems. CAD experience is a plus.
  • Physically capable of meeting the demands of the job, including walking, climbing, and lifting.
  • Holds a valid driver’s license and has reliable transportation, with flexibility for on-call emergencies.
  • Passionate about sustainability and continuous improvement, ideally with involvement in professional organizations related to the industry.
