JOB SUMMARY

Reporting to the Director of Warehouse Operations, the Facilities Manager will be responsible for leading a team of professionals and collaborate with various departments to create and maintain a safe, secure, efficient, and comfortable working environment. Your role will involve managing budgets, coordinating maintenance activities, implementing safety initiatives, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations for the largest distribution center in our network.

YOU ARE

A leader - Oversee the day-to-day operations and maintenance of the facility, including building systems, equipment, utilities, and infrastructure. Lead facilities projects, including expansions, renovations, or relocations, ensuring compliance with applicable codes and regulations.

An action-oriented individual – You have a proven track record in facilities management. You thrive on working in a fast-paced, with a changing business environment. You will develop and implement training, policies, procedures, and programs to maintain a safe and secure work environment for the site. You will lead facilities projects, including expansions, renovations, or relocations, ensuring compliance with applicable codes and regulations.

Biased toward safety - You will serve as the primary point of contact for site security including management of site security services and implementation of protocols and infrastructure to mitigate site loss prevention. Conducting regular safety inspections, risk assessments, and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards will be part of your routine. You will provide safety/security training and awareness programs for employees and contractors to promote a safety-conscious culture and investigate and report incidents, accidents, near misses, security events. Implementing corrective actions to prevent future occurrences will be practiced consistently.

A collaborator and effective communicator - Liaise with regulatory agencies, external auditors, and inspectors during compliance audits and inspections. Collaborating with insurance providers to manage insurance claims, ensure appropriate coverage, and mitigate risks. You will coordinate with vendors, contractors, and service providers to schedule repairs, maintenance, and facility improvements.

Detail oriented - Maintaining records and documentation on all safety and security events, including but not limited to incident reports, training records, and safety data sheets. Staying up to date and ensure compliance with relevant local, state, and federal regulations, codes, and standards related to safety and facilities management will be essential for your success. Monitoring facility expenses and budget and identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising safety or quality.

Lead by example - You are expected to be a subject matter expert with a deep understanding of facilities management to achieve results that are characteristic of running successful manufacturing distribution site. You will recruit, train, and supervise a team of safety, maintenance, and facilities staff. You will develop talent by providing guidance, support, and performance feedback to team members. You are accountable, and you know how to problem solve and have proven ability to remain calm in fast-paced and stressful situations. You are transparent with your team, your peers and your leaders, and you position your team to win.

REQUIRED SKILLS FOR SUCCESS

Experience - Minimum of 5 years of experience in facilities management which includes oversight of facility operations, safety, and maintenance activities.

Education - bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or related discipline.

Technical Knowledge - Strong understanding of building systems, maintenance best practices, and regulatory requirements.

Project Management - Experience in leading and managing facility improvement projects, including planning, budgeting, and coordination with multiple stakeholders.

Problem Solving - Critical thinker with proven ability to deliver timely and innovative solutions.

Organizational Skills – Proven ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.

Communication - Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.

Attention to Detail - Demonstrates attention to detail and is diligent.

Computer - Highly computer literate with proficiency in MS Office and related business and communication tools.

Team Management - Prior experience in leading a team.

Leadership – Proven ability to remain calm in fast-paced and stressful situations.
