Paralegal / Legal Assistant

We are seeking an ambitious and outgoing Paralegal / Legal Assistant to become a part of our team! You will directly support our attorney's business needs.

Responsibilities:

• Update and manage attorney's calendar, which includes entry of deadlines, appointments and court dates;
• Communicate with clients, court personnel and other sources as needed;
• Assist with the drafting and reviewing of legal documents;
• Investigate facts to help in the negotiation of legal disputes;
• Acquire medical and billing records from medical providers;
• Conduct legal research;
• Record and store client information;
• Organize computer and paper files;
• Coordinating depositions and mediations;
• Meet with clients as necessary;
• Screen potential clients;
• Filing/efiling documents in county/district/appellate courts;
• Assist attorney with trial preparation;
• Answering/screening incoming telephone calls.

​Qualifications:

• High school diploma required, College degree and/or paralegal certification preferred;
• Personal injury experience;
• Ability to prioritize and multitask
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Deadline and detail-oriented
• Excellent organizational skills
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
• People-oriented - enjoys interacting with all types of people
• Adaptable/flexible - enjoys doing work that requires frequent shifts in direction
• High stress tolerance - thrives in a high-pressure environment
