Community Membership Representative (Butte County)

As a Community Membership Representative at Girl Scouts of Northern California, you join an energetic and creative team that promotes awareness for one of the most recognized and beloved brands in the country. We are seeking an individual looking to contribute 15-20 hours per week in Butte County to leverage their administrative, creative, organization and communications skills for a strong, mission-driven organization. This role will serve Butte County and report to the Chico office to provide the visibility and opportunity to move up in the organization.

• Prepare for and attend girl and adult member recruitment events both virtual and in-person recruiting events such as Back To School Nights, local community tabling events, etc. including a variety of virtual and/or in-person meetings, presentations, and networking opportunities with community organizations, schools, educators, faith-based institutions and other community constituents.
• The ideal candidate has experience in sales, retail, marketing, networking,and/or membership recruitment
• Represents Girl Scouts positively and effectively, serving as a brand ambassador.
• Ensures timely, thorough and accurate recording of job-appropriate data in database.
• Experience and success in public speaking and facilitation, including through virtual platforms.
• Valid California driver's license, access to reliable transportation, proof of auto insurance, and able to be insured by the Council's auto policy carrier.
• Ability to drive long distances and occasional trips to meet with staff and/or volunteers in other areas, Council offices, properties or locations outside the identified area.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 lbs., set up and put away tables and chairs, climb stairs, walk on uneven terrain.
• Able to pass GSNorCal's background check process (including criminal, education, SSN and DMV verification).

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bilingual/bicultural skills and experience, particularly Spanish language
• Knowledge of/experience in the Girl Scout Movement
• Reside in the identified geographic area the position is serving
• Nurture diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging, for girls, families, volunteers and staff.
