Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

Pre-Construction:
•Conduct mandatory pre-construction meetings with clients and sales reps, reviewing the contract for accuracy
•Verify field sketches/drawings, identifying potential construction issues and ensuring costs are reflected in the contract
•Collaborate with the draftsman on accurate, code-compliant drawings
•Create and upload a comprehensive material list into JobTread, tagging it as 'Material List.'
•Thoroughly review the material list for precision
Project Management:
•Receive project and crew assignments from the operations manager
•Oversee vendor selection and ensure labor contracts are approved
•Maintain clear communication with clients on project status, estimated start dates, and delivery schedules
•Schedule and coordinate porta-john and dumpster services
•Facilitate on-site kickoff meetings, ensuring a smooth transition to the vendor
•Perform daily site visits, documenting progress and potential issues on JobTread, keeping the client informed
•Manage change orders by uploading details and consulting the operations manager

Communication and Documentation

JobTread is central to communication: Log all project updates, tasks, meeting photos, and paperwork within JobTread
Streamline communication: Phone calls and emails must also be documented in JobTread for comprehensive project tracking
•Inform key stakeholders of the status of the project by producing regular progress reports
•Ensure teams work to follow all health and safety standards to prevent injuries and obstacles to project completion, and quickly report any safety regulation issues
•Implement systems to organize tools, vehicles, and equipment, and schedule maintenance for them if necessary
•Collaborate with clients, engineers, construction managers, and architects to determine the needed resources and scope of work, including necessary materials and expected labor required
•Work with general contractors, critical subcontractors, and external vendors to negotiate profitable contracts

Qualifications

•Minimum 3 years of experience as a Project Manager in residential construction, preferably with a focus on decks
•Strong understanding of building codes, permits, and safety regulations
•Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
•Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize effectively
•Proficient in project management software and tools
•Detail-oriented and able to juggle multiple tasks with accuracy
•Ability to work independently and as part of a team
•A passion for quality craftsmanship and customer satisfaction
•OSHA 30 certification
•Knowledge of the construction industry and the entire building process, including building permits, blueprints, building codes, construction equipment, material resources, construction methods, and project management principles
•Experience using construction or project management software preferred
•College degree (Bachelor's) in construction management, engineering, or another relevant field
•PMP certification is a plus
