Responsibilities and Duties

  • Partner with Event and Member Services Manager to schedule and coordinate all private events.
  • Assist members in planning and executing private events for property owners of Kiawah Island, their families and sponsored friends who are using the Recreation Department facilities as a base of operations.
  • Assist Director of Recreation with community events and programs
  • To promote a sense of community and to encourage island-wide use of Recreation Department facilities including, but not limited, to Sandcastle, Beachwalker Center, and Cinder Creek.
Requirements:
  • Associate’s degree in related area or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to provide quality service to a diverse property owner clientele.
  • Ability to diagnose abnormal and emergency conditions and take positive corrective measures to ensure safety and service.
  • Ability to interact effectively with patrons, KICA staff, and Advisory Committee members.
  • Adaptable to flexible working hours, weekend rotation and occasional nights.
  • Punctual, alert, and with a high degree of initiative and foresight.
  • Proven patron service skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication ability.
  • Computer skills to include data entry and basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, Knowledge of PowerPoint, Publisher, Adobe, InDesign, and other creative software is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods standing, walking, and sitting at a desk.
  • Repetitive motion involved with standard administrative office work.
  • Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at a time.

Other requirements:

  • Pass a pre-employment drug screen, criminal background check, and driving record check.
  • Maintain a valid South Carolina Drivers License
