Join a Mission That Matters – Special Event Manager

Location: Northport, Long Island | Full-Time (40 hours/week) | Non-Profit Healthcare

Help make a meaningful impact through events that support compassionate care in our community. At Visiting Nurse Service and Hospice of Suffolk (VNSHS), our fundraising events help provide critical support for patients and families across Suffolk County. As a Special Event Manager, you’ll play a key role in planning and executing signature fundraising events and donor engagement initiatives that advance our mission.

Your Impact:

The Special Event Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing fundraising events that drive donor engagement, community involvement, and revenue growth in support of VNSHS programs and services.

You Will:Event Planning & Execution

Oversee logistics and production for annual signature events and smaller-scale fundraisers

Coordinate timelines, venue selection, sponsorship activation, vendor relationships, and event operations

Collaborate with the Race Director in planning the annual 5K run/walk event

Donor & Community Engagement

Build and maintain relationships with donors, sponsors, committees, volunteers, and fundraising teams

Support long-term donor engagement and stewardship initiatives

Represent VNSHS professionally within the community and at events

Budget & Financial Management

Create and manage event budgets and invoices

Track event expenses and prepare post-event revenue reports

Collaborate with Development and Marketing teams to secure sponsorships and financial support

Marketing & Communications

Manage development and production of event-related print and digital communications

Assist with promotional efforts to increase event participation and community awareness

Create, manage, and update integrated CRM event forms and systems

What You Bring:

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or related field (or equivalent experience)

Minimum of 3 years of non-profit special event fundraising experience

Peer-to-peer fundraising experience required

Golf outing and/or gala fundraising experience required

Strong proficiency in CANVA or similar design platform

Proficiency in Microsoft Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
