Compensation

We’ll pay you an hourly rate of $22-$23.

About the Job

We need you to fill the role of a Head Lifeguard. This is a seasonal, non-exempt, hourly position. You’ll wow us by masterfully performing the following key duties and responsibilities:

• Supervises and assigns work to aquatic employees, ensuring proper policies are followed, work and safety standards are maintained, and that work schedules are met.
• Manages the aquatic facility under the direction of the Aquatics Director.
• Develops and maintains a positive rapport with members and guests, as well as staff.
• Enforces pool rules and regulations to maintain a safe recreation environment.
• Maintains correct water chemistry and ensures health standards where they apply.
• Maintains records as required by the Shalom Austin Aquatics Department and the City and State Health Department.
• Leads the team on duty in the event of an emergency.

Requirements:

• Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
• Lifeguarding Waterpark w/ CPR, First Aid, AED Training .
• American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor (with 30 days of hire).
• Bloodborne Pathogens Training (within 14 days of hire).
• Administering Emergency Oxygen Training (within 14 days of hire).
• Asthma Inhaler and Anaphylaxis and Epinephrine Auto-Injector Training (within 14 days of hire).
• Ability to swim for long distances, minimum 500 yards, and with great strength.
• Exemplary CPR/AED, First Aid, and rescue skills.
• Must have 1 year of lifeguard experience.
• Current CPR/AED/First Aid Pediatric and Adults certification or acquired within first two weeks of employment. Current American Red Cross Lifeguard certification, or equivalent, may be provided instead.
