SAF Senior Electrical Engineer

We are seeking a senior electrical engineer to support our projects with process knowledge in utility systems such as material handling, biomass boilers, wastewater plants, power generation, steam turbines, and general utilities. The responsibilities will be to coordinate Electrical and Process Control engineering team activities on a project under the supervision of a senior-level project manager; engineering activities may include:

• Responsible for the quality, timeliness, and consistency of Electrical and Process Control deliverables as assigned by the project.

• Recognize and manage change in scope according to the project change management procedure.

• Perform administrative duties as needed for the process group such as scheduling coordination meeting, meeting minutes, etc. as required.

• Provide input to the design basis.

• Develop single lines as required.

• Provide interconnect support to other process areas and entities on the project as required.

• Develop electrical infrastructure layout/routing/MCC rooms/Control rooms as required.

• Develop I/O List.

• Develop Electrical equipment specifications and list.

• Develop motor lists as required.

• Collaborate/Develop control philosophy.

• Develop grounding plan.

• Provide Electrical Load study and identify high/medium/low voltage users as required.

• Coordinate with process technology suppliers for delivery of first-of-a-kind carbon reduction projects.

• Collaborate with engineers to determine project specifications.

• Ensure designs follow industry standards and codes.

• Assist with procurement pricing of materials to support estimate development as required.

• Review and revise designs based on feedback from project managers and clients.

• Coordinate with other designers and drafters to ensure accuracy and consistency across all drawings.

• Ability to always maintain discretion and confidentiality.

• Excellent time management and organizational skills.

• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements/Qualifications:

Education: B.S. in Electrical Engineering with adequate experience

Special Skills/Abilities:

• Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in electrical design.

• Proficiency in CAD software, such as AutoCAD or MicroStation.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office such as Teams, Word, Excel, etc.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.

• Knowledge of industry standards, codes, and regulations.

Working Conditions:

This position routinely operates in a professional office environment with the potential for travel and on-site embedded time. Embedded time may include working environments such as factory floors where industrial machinery is present and in operation.

Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
