Legal Counsel - Assist IN-HOUSE General Counsel - JD a MUST

Attention recent LAW SCHOOL GRADUATES! Marcum Search LLC has been engaged by our Melville, NY based client to identify an Assistant to their In-House General Counsel. Qualified candidates MUST have their Juris Doctor (JD) degree and 2+ years of professional experience parcticing law.  Corporate IN-HOUSE counsel experience a plus!

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Report to and liaise with General Counsel
• Develop strategies for resolving contract disputes and claims
• Advise senior project management on legal and minority business participation compliance
• Draft contract notices to project owners, subcontractors, and vendors regarding various contract issues, claims and delays
• Manage and oversee minority business participation, tracking of minority participation contract goals, submission of waiver and exclusion requests and utilization plan updates, vetting of minority subcontractors and vendors

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
• Admittance to the state bar association and in good standing
• 2-3 years professional experience practicing law - construction industry experience is a plus

Salary: $90K-$110K DOE + Excellent benefits! F/T onsite
