This Position:

Responsible for creating, improving and maintaining a cohesive content and brand voice across multiple channels to support strategic business plans. Lead the content strategy development and production of marketing content including, but not limited to, website material, print material, emails, blog posts, social media posts, public relations, and digital advertising.

Who We Need:

We're looking for individuals who have strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Excellent writing and verbal communication with experience through electronic channels are ideal qualities to thrive in this role.

Full-Time Schedule, 40+ Hours Per Week Monday-Friday. Ability to work a flexible schedule with occasional evening and weekend hours as needed. This position has the potential to work a hybrid schedule after an initial training period. Due to the requirements of this position, the initial training period may last anywhere from six (6) to eighteen (18) months. Hybrid schedule must be approved and is granted on a case by case basis.

Essential Functions and Basic Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for leading the collaboration with the marketing team on content strategy, calendar, and optimization. Create and maintain an editorial calendar to establish content distribution and channels, working closely with the Creative Strategist.
  • Create evergreen content assets to educate, inform, and guide consumers through the different stages of their buying journey. Responsible for driving leads, subscribers, awareness, and/or other metrics. Present recommendations to Marketing leadership for approval and implementation.
  • Works closely with Marketing team to ensure copy is optimized across all channels.
  • Work collaboratively with both internal and external resources to help initiate, drive, design and implement a wide-range of content such as buyers' guides, educational blogs, video, direct mail, email, seminars, brochures, collateral material, member newsletters, and sales sheets, across multiple media and distribution channels to support organization objectives. Responsible to coordinate messaging, consistent with brand strategy across all marketing channels.
  • Manage and update social media channels with timely and relevant messages that support financial education, communications, community relations, membership and marketing. Remain aware and up to date on social media marketing trends and apply knowledge to leverage social media activities effectively. Make social media policy recommendations. Establish and report metrics on social media efforts and success rates.
  • Writes content for press releases and article submissions. Create and pitch newsworthy stories to the media.
  • Research, copy write, edit, proofread, fact-check, and coordinate production of all communications and content that reach internal and external audiences. Maintain a consistent tone and voice across marketing channels. Facilitate internal marketing department proofing process, as appropriate. Develop a keen understanding of organization's audiences based on market research
  • Participate in the development of creative briefs, and collaborate in creative team planning. Provides support and backup for Marketing team to assure projects meet deadlines.
  • Work with the Chief Marketing Officer to assist in the development, implementation, and analysis of marketing promotions including establishing budgets, and analyzing ROI.
  • Always exhibit a courteous and professional attitude toward staff and members by showing enthusiasm and dedication.
  • Attend training sessions and complete required training in a timely manner. Attend and participate in other group or company meetings as required.
  • Be available and willing to perform other tasks as assigned by direct supervisor.


Required Education and Job Competencies

  • Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, etc. with three to five years similar or related experience. Demonstrated ability to produce content for print, social media, and web.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Advanced level skill for Microsoft Office Products required.
  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills and ability to prepare organized and well written documents. Excellent phone skills/etiquette and the ability to communicate clearly and effectively in person and over the phone and through electronic channels.
  • Handle all information/documents in a confidential and secure manner. Be aware of surroundings when working with member files, both in person or over the phone, when discussing or gathering personal and confidential information.
  • Demonstrates an above average level of organizational, communication and business writing skills to exhibit professionalism and deal effectively with internal and external contacts.
  • Extremely conscientious, excellent with detail, and has ability to be multi-tasked to coordinate and prioritize the workday efficiently while maintaining a consistent level of high-quality work. Comfortable working under pressure, self motivated and able to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to understand and monitor compliance functions and responsibilities assigned within a credit union and the ability to stay current in the changing environment of compliance.
  • A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to normal courtesy and tact. Work involves extensive personal contact with others and is usually of a personal or sensitive nature. Work may involve motivating, influencing or training others. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary and often requires the ability to influence and/or sell ideas or services to others.
  • Strong time management; ability to manage multiple workloads with successful results; ability to work independently.


Working Conditions/Environment:

A typical office setting. This position requires sitting for long periods of time and working primarily at a workstation or desk in an open office environment. Daily tasks include extensive use of a computer performing standard keyboard functions, requiring repeated motion, as well as extensive use of the phone. Stretching breaks are recommended to avoid injury.
