Position Summary:

Assist the Director of Nursing (ADON) with planning and implementing objectives, policies, and procedures nursing services, in accordance with federal and state regulations, for Abbey (Memory Support/Assisted Living Program) and Villa (Assisted Living Program) residents. Provide direct supervision to licensed team members and general oversight to non-licensed team members who provide health care services in the Abbey and Villa.

Essential Functions:
  • Lead and manage direct reports to assure the desired level of resident service, care, and satisfaction. Monitor and evaluate team member performance; provide coaching, training, and corrective actions as required. Assure equitable administration of policies, and compliance with regulatory and legal requirements. Develop and provide appropriate recommendations for the full range of team member and organizational matters, including staffing, compensation, promotion, and termination actions.
  • Conduct regular team member meetings for nursing team members according to quality patient care standards and nursing practice guidelines. Provide for professional growth and development of team members through identification of needs, development of and participation in individual training plans, and encouragement of formal continuing education efforts.
  • Communicate federal and state regulatory requirements, and any changes as appropriate, to the nursing team members to assure that high quality care is maintained for Abbey and Villa residents and annual surveys reflect compliance with regulations.
  • Conduct regular rounds to monitor residents' activity and quality of care that nursing team members are providing; and to monitor for any indication of abuse, mistreatment, or neglect and take corrective actions as appropriate.
  • Assist the Nurse Management Team in ensuring individual resident care plans are executed and ensuring the nursing team members are implementing those individualized resident care plans.
  • Support and manage a dynamic Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) and Standard of Care (SOC) program for the Chateau that effectively identifies areas for improvement and provides tracking and trending of issues through effective resolution.
  • Assure that reportable incidents are properly investigated and documented and reported timely to the Oklahoma State Department of Health (OSDH) and the Department of Human Services (DHS) to assure Montereau's compliance with regulations.
  • Participate in routine meetings to address immediate issues and coordinate changes within the organization that may affect Abbey and Villa residents or its operations.


Experience:
  • A minimum of 2 years of skilled nursing experience within a long-term care (LTC), assisted living, or hospital environment is preferred.
  • Previous experience working with federal, state and local nursing services regulations and practical experience analyzing and interpreting statistical reports while working in an interdisciplinary team environment is preferred.
  • Previous experience within a Life Plan Community is preferred.
  • Previous leadership experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.


Education/Certifications/Licenses:
  • Current State of Oklahoma Licensed Practical Nurse license is required, Registered Nurse license is preferred.
  • Bachelor degree in Nursing is preferred.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification is required.


Job Specific Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
    • Strong understanding of state and federal regulations relating to LTC and Assisted Living
    • Strong resident care documentation skills
    • Working knowledge of Minimum Data Sets (MDS) is preferred.
