About the Role:

The Associate Packaging Engineer will drive packaging development across our portfolio of products, with a particular focus on Dr. Squatch's retail expansion. This role will scope, innovate, and design packaging solutions for retail bundles, displays, and any other secondary packaging. While this role will initially be focused on retail and fulfillment, there will be opportunities to work on the full breadth of packaging needs at Dr. Squatch. As a member of the Product Team, the Associate Packaging Engineer will work closely with Operations, Marketing, and Sales teams to execute on packaging development.

This role will report to the Sr. Packaging Engineer.

This is a full-time role with company benefits based in Marina del Rey, CA.

The anticipated base compensation range for this role will be $65,000 to $80,000. Compensation will be commensurate with the candidate's experience and local market rates.

What You'll Do:
  • Collaborate cross functionally to drive the packaging R&D for retail and fulfillment with both Internal and External supply chain partners
  • Work with vendors to create dielines, samples, and test package structures to optimize costs
  • Build out packaging packout specifications to be shared with internal and external partners
  • Coordinate required packaging testing (i.e. transit testing, compatibility testing, etc.)
  • Coordinate with the Operations, Sales, and Marketing teams to ensure packaging designs can be effectively produced at scale and successfully launched
  • Partner with the Creative Team to create fully mocked-up renders and ensure Dr. Squatch brand consistency across all packaging and displays

About You:
  • At least 1-2 years of proven experience in physical packaging development
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Package Engineering, Packaging Design, or Industrial Design
  • ArtiosCAD experience required
  • Experience with retailer-specific packaging requirements is a plus
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Interest in health and wellness, personal care, and/or eCommerce industries
  • Experience working in the consumer products industry is highly preferred
  • Someone who gets things done without perfect resources is innovative and works with a sense of urgency
  • Someone who has high standards takes ownership and is invested in the outcome
  • Someone who proactively helps others stays positive and has a good sense of humor
