Senior Property Accountant

Are you a seasoned senior property accountant looking for your next challenge?  Are you looking to work with a team of real estate industry leaders who are innovative, think outside the box and are not afraid to take risks?  Trinity Residential is an early-stage property management company and is part of a fully integrated real estate firm focused on owning and managing multifamily real estate properties.  The firm started less than a year ago and is looking to expand the accounting department with the addition of an accounting manager.  We have transitioned our properties to be internally managed from a 3rd party management company and are currently going through the process of building out all our various systems and processes and procedures.  If you want to get in on the ground floor, wear a lot of hats and make an impact as the company grows, this is the position for you. 

Duties will include:

-          Completion of monthly financials by required due date for multiple multifamily properties.

-          Assist in the implementation of RealPage software platform and become the SME including all peripheral modules (Vendor Credentialing, RealPage payments (Avidx), Cash Management and Spend Management).

-          Review and approve utility invoices processed for payment by our 3rd party utility company. Upload journal entry provided by vendor and become the main liaison when payment issues occur (disconnect notices, resident billing questions, etc,).

-          Hire, train and manage offshore accounting staff ensuring productivity remains high and all required tasks are completed in a timely manner.

-          Take on ownership of all Treasury duties including initiating wires, completing positive pay process daily, and ensuring cash is recorded weekly.

-          Assist in the creation, documentation and training of policies and procedures for onsite staff related to accounting processes (A/P, PO’s, vendor set-up, etc.).

-          Be the main liaison with the 3rd party utility management company.

-          Be a resource and supply excellent customer service to internal customers i.e. property management personnel, asset management and partners.

-          Assist Controller in the completion of monthly financials for management company in Quickbooks including determination and recording of billbacks and reconciling intercompany monthly.

-          Lead implementation of pcard process for corporate and onsite staff including vendor selection, designing process and training users.

-          Assist in bi-weekly processing of payroll for Trinity Residential including posting employee changes, recording payroll and being a        resource for benefit questions.

Requirements:

-          Must have 3-5 years of real estate experience with multifamily, student housing or commercial real estate type assets.

-          RealPage accounting software knowledge is preferred but Yardi, Resman, and Entrata are also acceptable.

-          Not afraid to take initiative and constantly thinking of the best practice or process to achieve high efficiency of daily tasks.  

-          Must be adaptable to changes in priorities daily.

-          Accounting degree preferred but not required.

-          Advanced level knowledge with MS Office Suite including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams and Sharepoint.

-          Ability to work independently and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
