Reports to General Manager
Short Job Overview:
The Foreperson position at CR Fence & Handrail entails managing job completion from initial review through execution. This role involves assessing job proposals and sites, determining necessary equipment and tools, planning the workload for the team, and ensuring safety standards are upheld. The Foreman is responsible for tool and equipment allocation, task assignment, driving efficiency, maintaining quality, and liaising with customers to ensure satisfaction. Additionally, this role includes managing all necessary job-related paperwork and supporting the company's management and mission.
3 Key Role Objectives/Accountabilities (& KPIs):
1. Project Management and Execution:
- Review job specifications from the sales team to determine the needed materials, tools, and equipment.
- Assesses on-site conditions, plan time allotment, tools needed, and work order.
- Coordinates efficiently with the team to stage and load trucks.
- Adjusts job plans as necessary, troubleshoots situations, and innovates processes to meet company standards and timelines.
2. Team Leadership and Customer Interaction:
- Assigns tasks, trains, and motivates installers on proper methods and safety guidelines.
- Communicates consistently with customers, providing updates, reviewing installations in detail, and ensuring satisfaction with the work.
- Conducts semi-annual comprehensive reviews of team members with the General Manager.
3. Administrative and Operational Oversight:
- Tracks hours, and manages the pace of job progress to ensure quality, efficiency, and profitability.
- Ensures compliance with company policies and safety guidelines and manages all paperwork accurately.
- Responsible for all equipment, tools, and supplies, including scheduling maintenance.

Skills and Abilities
Education:
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree equivalent (GED)
Experience:
- One-year related fencing or construction trades experience preferred
- An equivalent combination of education and experience
Basic Skills:
- Ability to add, subtract, and divide all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent
- Ability to draw and interpret bar graphs
Computer Skills:
- Basic computer skills and working knowledge of software is preferred
Physical Requirements:
- Vision-Must be able to read reports, data, and statistics on a computer screen (75-100%)
- Hearing-Must be able to hear and communicate on the telephone and in person (75-100%)
- Standing/Walking (75-100%)
- Climbing/Stooping/Kneeling (75-100%)
- Must be able to lift up 100 lbs of force occasionally up to 80 lbs of force frequently, and up to 20 lbs of force consistently to move objects.
