Procurement Manager

Position Overview: Genuine Foods is seeking a dynamic and organized Procurement Manager to join our team. As a key member of our management team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the procurement team sources the highest quality products at the best value across all markets. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, strategic thinking abilities, effective communication skills, and the drive to excel in various capacities within the procurement domain.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop strategic sourcing plans aligned with company goals and requirements.
• Negotiate favorable pricing and terms with distributors for raw food, ingredients, packaging, and equipment purchases.
• Collaborate closely with the operations team to procure necessary equipment and materials for all markets.
• Foster strong vendor relationships and establish new partnerships as needed.
• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure objectives are met.
• Work in tandem with the nutritional department to ensure compliance with school food standards.
• Spearhead the development of private label products for frequently used items.
• Monitor supplier performance and address any quality or delivery issues promptly.

• 3-5 years of purchasing experience, preferably in a school food program environment.
• Proven track record in negotiating contract terms, managing on-time deliveries, and achieving cost savings.
• Familiarity with nutritional components and sourcing for K12 menu items.
• Experience working with Group Purchasing Organizations (GPOs) and Distributors, including US Foods and Premier.
• Strong relationship-building skills with suppliers and local vendors.
• Business acumen with the ability to analyze financial statements and drive cost efficiencies.
• Ideally, experience negotiating with broadline distributors and large manufacturers.
• Proficiency in purchasing a variety of packaging materials.
• Ability to establish and manage budgets effectively.
• Excellent communication skills and professional demeanor.
• Strong customer service orientation.
