Starting Pay Rate: $18.45 per hour, plus mileage (after 90 days, $19.45 per hour)

Hours: 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM

We are seeking several dynamic and experienced Traveling Skill Trainers to join our client's team. In this role, you will provide comprehensive training and support to individuals with diverse abilities across various locations. As a Traveling Skill Trainer, you will travel to different sites, conduct assessments, design training plans, and empower individuals to develop vital life skills for greater independence and inclusion.

• Provide orientation and training to eligible consumers of the PCA program within the allotted time specified in the referral request contract.
• Ensure that the orientation clearly describes the consumer's rights, responsibilities, and the rules, regulations, and policies governing the PCA program.
• Emphasize the consumer's responsibility to use PCA services as authorized by the Division of Medical Assistance.
• Submit all necessary documentation on a timely basis as required for the services and follow up on their status as directed by the Skills Trainer Coordinator.
• Ensure responsiveness to consumer inquiries regarding their status and subsequent needs, maintaining a high level of communication.
• Assess if additional services would benefit the consumer and make appropriate internal and external referrals.
• Stay knowledgeable about the rules, policies, and procedures governing the CIL (Center for Independent Living) and PCA programs and act accordingly.
• Review and discuss these regulations with supervisors or consumers when necessary.
• Attend all trainings and meetings as directed by the Skills Trainer Coordinator and Director of Skill Trainer.
• Continuously develop knowledge and skills through educational opportunities.
• Educate members and/or their surrogates on the required functional skills in accordance with MassHealth's PCA program regulations.
• Address requests from the fiscal intermediary, DMA (Division of Medical Assistance), consumer, or internal referral in a timely manner.
• Monitor the consumer service agreement, including consumer assessment, functional skill trainer schedule, and backup PCA list.
• Perform quarterly monitoring during the first year of approved PCA services and yearly thereafter.
• Review and modify the consumer service agreement with the consumer and surrogate as appropriate.
• Monitor, review, and update the consumer service agreement, including surrogate agreements.
