Production Process Engineer
Pallidus, Inc., is a fast-growing producer of large diameter Silicon Carbide wafers for high power and high frequency semiconductor applications in Transportation, Green Energy, Telecommunication, and Industrial markets. Position located in Albany, NY manufacturing facility.

SCOPE
This role supports the daily needs of the processes related to manufacturing Silicon Carbide wafers in the Albany NY location. The ideal Production Process Engineer has experience working in a fast paced, ever-changing environment continually improving manufacturing processes. This is a hands-on position, requiring the ability to run tests, analyze data, implement change, and train others.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Identify and address safety risks within the production environment.
Monitor process data and respond appropriately to maintain quality, yield and productivity.
Conduct engineering tests, use data to quantity results and determine best solutions.
Provide technical expertise and project management with a hands-on approach.
Analyze and interpret data using statistical methods to generate data driven process improvement actions.
Troubleshooting process problems, defining resolutions, and implementing improvements.
Lead or participate in root cause analysis and assist with Failure Mode & Effect Analysis (FMEA) to provide recommendations for improvements and corrective actions.
Use lean manufacturing and 5S principles to reduce costs and increase yields.
Working with external vendors to vet new technologies and demonstrate performance.
Ensuring manufacturing processes and equipment comply with safety standards and legal regulations.
Collaborate with other groups to meet specific department and company goals.
Understand, follow, and maintain detailed procedures and documentation. Provide support and feedback to audits by customers, ISO, and internal auditors.
Assist maintenance with troubleshooting of production tools.
Use sound judgement when determining priorities and balancing daily process/production support, project related tasks and outside department requests.

REQUIREMENTS

BS in Engineering - Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial, or Similar
3-5 years’ experience in manufacturing environment. Lapping and polishing experience preferred.
Experience evaluating and troubleshooting manufacturing
Statistical data skills: SPC, JMP, Minitab
Practical experience applying structured problem-solving methods.
Familiarity working in an ISO 9001 environment.
Excellent verbal and written skills. Commitment to effective communication.
Initiative to address and appropriately escalate problems to achieve rapid resolution
Must be a US Citizen or be a lawful permanent resident of the U.S. to meet Export Control requirements
