Resource/ Activity Coordinator
- $22 to $24 Hourly
- Full-Time
Assists senior residents with access to social services in coordination with the Dr. Davis Residence Case Manager. Works as liaison with agencies and service providers who bring programs to residence, such as computer classes, special events, evening/weekend activities and art classes. Organizes activities for participant engagement in the activities at the residence and at the Dr. George W Davis Senior Center. Designs and implements a consistent program schedule in accordance with monthly calendar.
Major functions/ responsibilities
- Provides services implementing the agency’s vision and meeting contract requirements for the program
- Maintains good working relationships as a member of the BSS team at Dr Davis Senior Center as well as coordinating with other community partners to support the success of the residents
- Provides service arrangement for residents based on identified need
- Maintains files and database on social service needs of participants on care planning, monitoring and follow up
- Fills out paperwork, translates written material and interprets letters
- Coordinates appointments for residents with social service agencies
- Coordinates speaking engagements for representatives to present services
- Coordinates with senior center staff and volunteers to design and implement activities/ programs that engage new participants
- Maintains monthly calendar, produces flyers and information for newsletter
- Provides training and supervision for the work of volunteers who implement programs and activities
- Ensures instructors and volunteers have the supplies they need
- Provides outreach and signs up seniors for classes and events
- Coordinates with transportation services for outings
- Ensures attendance is taken at each program and maintains records of all activities
- Maintains documentation of units of service and provides input into database
- Ensures clients are surveyed yearly for their input regarding programs, adjusting programs accordingly
- Ensures evaluation mechanisms, including surveys, are implemented to measure program effectiveness.
- Attends meetings and coordinates with agency staff to ensure maximum cooperation and shared use of services
- Other duties as assigned
Educational/ Other Requirements
At least three years experience in working in a community setting with direct client experience, preferably with seniors and/or in the community
Knowledge of the community and what motivates seniors to participate
Good organizational and written skills
Excellent organizational skills and patience in working with seniors
Ability to empower volunteers and clients
