Accounting Operations Manager

If so, as the Accounting Operations Manager for 6AM Core Collective, you will have the opportunity to put your finance and accounting knowledge to work in a rapidly-growing, highly dynamic collection of successful businesses.

You will inherit rock-solid systems and processes, clean books, and an outstanding accounting team, but will need to drive more strategic data analytics, solve problems, and find ways for us to better our financial operations. Your role will include oversight of all financial and accounting processes, GL responsibility, tax planning, and strategy. It will also include a number of special projects and financial analysis.

You will be in a leadership position (reporting to the CFO) and will be responsible for the production, growth, and guidance of the accounting department for 6AM and all of its sister companies.

6AM and its sister companies provide real estate and business services to internal and external clients, have over $15 million in annual revenue, employ 60+ W2’s, and include property management and maintenance (2,500+ rental units for 500+ owners), real estate brokerage (400+ transactions per year), and lending services ($10+ million in annual originations) as well other investments (1,000 rental units) and service businesses (100+ remote team members).

We have grown significantly year-over-year since we started in 2009 and the growth is increasing. As a result, your role will be filled with variety, a need to be adaptable, and plenty of complex problems to solve in a truly entrepreneurial environment.

We are looking for a hands-on, fast-paced strategic thinker to make sure our financial structure, reporting, and insight keep up with our growth while keeping us secure.

Specifically, the Accounting Operations Manager will:

• Lead, encourage, and inspire all accounting personnel including bookkeepers and virtual assistants
• Serve as primary accounting point of contact for all corporate entities
• Ensure all entity financial statements and bank reconciliations are produced timely and accurately each month
• Responsible for setting project deadlines
• Accountable to CFO and business unit leaders to prepare for future growth
• Maximizes return on financial assets by establishing financial and banking policies, procedures, controls, and reporting systems
• Continuously provide process improvement in compliance with corporate policies
• Responsible for all coordination of tax-related matters with our outside CPA firm

Critical Skills include:

• Experience leading successful teams, managing processes, developing standards, auditing, accounting, working with financial software, corporate finance, developing budgets, tracking budget expenses, analyzing information and performance management
• Strong interpersonal and analytical skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to communicate with all levels of personnel
• Strong presentation skills, including the ability to anticipate questions and offer solutions
• Excellent organizational skills including the ability to prioritize multiple projects
• Experience managing a portfolio of businesses for a privately held company
• Degree from a four-year college or university program with an emphasis in accounting, finance, or related field required
• A minimum of five years prior accounting, finance or related experience required including prior supervisory experience
• An advanced degree or a CPA certification is a plus
