Job Description
Salary:

Responsibilities:

  • The primary role of this position is to manage all aspects of the graduate programs for the School of Education:
  • Hiring and training of all faculty for graduate education programming.
  • Plan the teaching schedule for program faculty in consultation with the Dean.
  • Oversee the curricular processes to ensure the course and program outcomes are current, relevant, and appropriate.
  • In consultation with program faculty, prepare recommendations for revising course descriptions, program outcomes, assessment plans, and curriculum.
  • Oversee the development and execution of all assessments related to program and course outcomes.
  • Be responsible for addressing all program student and faculty concerns, which may involve the Dean or VPAA.
  • Collaborate with Dean and other SOE faculty and staff on the development and implementation of new programs.
  • Meet with faculty periodically during each academic year.
  • Participate in the review of student advising processes for graduate SOE students.
  • Write an annual report to the Dean each academic year.
  • Assist the SOE Chair in managing the SOE accreditation processes.
  • Assist the teacher certification unit as needed.
  • Teach at least one three-credit-hour class per academic year.
  • Serve on the Graduate Council for Avila University.


Qualifications:

  • A collaborative and inclusive leader who exhibits a participatory leadership style and can use those skills to develop and guide the School of Education.
  • Proven skills in managing programs to State of MO DESE standards (or related accreditation experience).
  • Experience working in K-12 environments in teaching and leadership roles.
  • Experience in developing and implementing appropriate graduate level learning assessment plans for academic programs.
  • Superb communication skills, including written, verbal and presentation skills; someone who has routinely spoken in public and on behalf of an organization to promote knowledge.
  • Experience collecting, assembling and utilizing data to establish metrics that can drive decision-making.
  • Masters or Terminal degree (Ph.D. or Ed.D.) in Education.
  • More than 5 years of experience.
  • Multi-lingual skills highly preferred.
