Responsibilities

Priorities can often change in a fast-paced environment like ours, so this role includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:

• Design aerial transmission lines including structures and framing.

• Analyze existing transmission lines for conductor upgrades and communications cables additions.

• Analyze existing poles and structures for compliance with current codes.

• Prepare construction drawings and technical specifications.

• Design foundations for substation equipment, communications towers, control buildings, poles, and structures.

• Work with bill of materials, quantities take-off and cost estimates.

• Work with reports establishing design criteria and provide description of structural design for the projects.

• Estimate engineering hours effort for proposals.

• Attending meetings with clients, other disciplines, and manufacturers.

• Travel to projects sites and client’s offices.

• Direct designers and technicians by reviewing work and monitoring progress to ensure compliance with safety and regulations.

• Be visionary and able to share that vision with the team members planning for alternatives.

 

Requirements

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • BSCE
  • 5 years of experience, minimum.
  • Professional Engineer License preferred.
  • MSCE or ME preferred.
  • Bilingual preferred (English and Spanish).
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong leadership and time management skills.
  • Familiarity with design tools and software such as the following: PLS-CADD, PLS-Pole, L-Pile
  • Knowledge working with at least one of the following Structural Analysis Finite Elements software:
    • SAP2000
    • RISA3D
    • TEKLA
    • Visual Analysis
